I am very interested in the "1st half total points" betting option. I think it's a gimme at "under 21.5 points" the start of the game will be fiery for sure and maybe explosive but I still think it will be some ttime b4 some real scoring takes place.

England did well, should be a real close game vs Australia next week, think we are not far away with the right team now, still think Thompson, Moody and Tindall are past it and should be put out to pasture, sooner we can replace them the better, keep building this team around the youngsters Cole, Hartley, Lawes, Croft, Youngs, Ashton, Foden.

Got to agree again. Enjoyed the match as we actuallly turned up for a change and the younger lads are playing without fear. Thompson did ok but looks like we will have to find another hooker for next week as I fear Hartley will be banned. Tindall is showing his age but is good at organinsing the defence. I personally would like to see Barritt in there but the England camp don't seem to like him just yet. Moody will still put his body on the line but he is getting over the hill but with Fourie at 32(?) we don't have a real out and out 7 coming though. Saull is the one that springs to mind but he is still learning the game. We don't seem to have a McCaw, Pocock, George Smith, Martyn Williams who win all the ball on the floor and don't get pinged too much. Williams made a difference immediately when he came off the bench for Warburton.
On the whole things are looking up for England and we are hopefully heading in the right direction.

I like Barritt too, runs hard and straight, but seems to have good hands too. At 7 I think Saull has potential and I still think Rees has not hit top form since injury, personally I like Armitage, probably the best of the lot on the floor, but he can give penalties away.

Excuse my ignorance but which club does Barritt play for?
Personally frustrated that with the centres in that we have neither speedsters who bash thru the line like nonu nor silky players like giteau.
Could theoretically armitage play 12 and abendonan play 13? or am I trying to squeeze in too many flair players.....does jerry guscott have any sons who will be ready for nxt year?

Larinho,

Barritt plays for Saracens, he is still only around 24 or 25 yrs old. I like his play... he is a good strong runner with a bit of flair and good defensively but for some reason his face is not fitting yet... seems along the lines of Ryan Lamb, Anthony Allen, Nick Kennedy, Olly Barclay, Phil Dowson etc that all can be the form player in the Premiership but still not get picked.
Regarding Abendonan I wouldn't be picking him. Very up and down...very good with ball in hand but a liability under the high ball and not the greatest tackler. Delon Armatige was poor last year ..he is showing better form this year but seems much better at 15 or on the wing.

I dare say Waldouck from Wasps will be the next youngster picked in the centres when Tindall and Hape are deemed too old. The future looks good though. I really like Trinder and May from Gloucester and I am sure there are others which we may see glimpses of this week in the LV cup.

Going to wait for the weather regarding the matches at the weeekend as I think England could win if the weather is poor but the Aussies if it clears up..

I think the Aussies will win relatively comfortably against England, the only concern I have is scrum time. Australia's backline pack way too much class for the English to handle and in their last two encounters at Twickenham has seen Australia win fairly comfortably -3.5 @ 9/10 is my call.
Also like All Blacks to be leading Scotland by 10 or more before Half Time, I reckon the Scots will be a tad rusty, so -9.5 HT @ 9/10 looks a decent punt.

Thanks for the info, does seem certain players, like ollie barkley and previously simpson-daniel just don't fit the bill.
Think Aussie will sneak it tom - out of revenge for June - as long as Giteau is nowhere the kicking tee. Beale and ashley-cooper have really up their performances.

All Balcks by 20 even if they throw on subs

Springboks looked very solid last week - will go with them -8 as I don't see how Wales will get any go forward

France vs Fiji will be fun to watch
France disjointed squad selection and will they play with any flair?
Come on Fiji

Hello everyone Smile

I expect New Zealand to win this by more than 20 points against Scotland. The All Blacks beat England in the last test and seemed to be cruising untill one of their players got a yellow card ten minutes from time. Without that yellow they would have won by a lot more than they did. When you consider that New Zealand have won all 27 games played against Scotland and have never won by less than 19 points, I consider the -18 Hcp a bargain.

Big advantage for France against their game home to Fidji with pouring rain. The weather won't be in the fidjians favour as passing will be very risky.

Cheers for the info Pharlap going to leave that one alone though as there are too many change sin the French side to be sure of anything.

All write ups on the blog so won't post them all on here

Going to go for

England to beat Australia @2.5
England pack to rule the game and not give the Aussie backs as much space as they got last week.

Italy to beat Argentina @2.35-ish
Argentina without Hernandez and some of their bigger players showing their age. Italy improving and will shock a few more teams this year.

Wales +6.5
Ireland were poor last week and still nearly won Byrne back at 15 enables Hook to move back to 12 and run the game.

Wales v SA over 52 @3
Think this is going to have points. SA destroyed the lineout of Ireland last week and Wales will need to keep the ball moving if they are to win. 18 yr old on the wing for Wales after just 8 senior games.. could be brillinat could be vunerable.. whatever the ball will come his way whether it is from Wales or SA

Samoa +21.5
Ireland were poor and have made changes. Samoa have a lot of seasoned pro's and should not be beat by more than 20

Scotland +18.5
Scotland are improving fast. They beat the Aussies last year and NZ are not at full strength. See this going NZ's way by about 10-13

Good Luck
