Just a few days to go now so thought its worth getting the thread up. With 69 replies to the competition thread, there must be lot of closet snooker fans....or something.
Anyway I've just got done previewing the 1st quarter of the draw on my blog - http://www.olbg.com/blogs/blog_post.php?t=betking&id=68069 - with a big value pick that many may not agree with.
I'll be adding blogs for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters today and tomorrow, as well as outright bets and speciality markets, so will add links to those as and when they're done
Hopefully we'll get some kind of discussion going for the biggest tournament of the snooker calender _________________ Michelle Larcher de Brito - World Number One 2012 (c)2008

Your right BK, at a first look I would have said you were mental but considering the price and the fact he won the China Open then maybe you aren't a crazy fool after all!!
I can see a great trade in this as I can see the Ronnie v Ebdon happening as I think Ronnie will show up with the right head and if he doesn't then all the better as I'll be on Ebdon anyway!!
I also see Ronnie is 4/1 for the highest tournament break and that's very hard to turn down so I won't!! He can rack up damn good scores when he is in the mood so a small stakes nibble at this won't do any harm.
John Higgins @ 12/1 for the outright market is hard price to turn down for a trade as he has won this twice before and is capable of beating anyone when is on form but I only need him to progress a bit for the trade.
Higgins' first round match looks interesting, interesting in that I fully expect him to win and the 1.34 on offer at Betfair at the min is going to be snapped up this minute but that may not be value for some but it tickles my biscuits anyway. _________________ -

Higgins is ridiculous value for his 1st round match I agree there, not so sure hes going to get very far overall though. 2nd quarter is by far the most difficult to get out of and Higgins has his work cut out. Halfway through my blog for Q2 but Higgins wasnt as good as scores suggest in China and there could be a shock in store methinks _________________ Michelle Larcher de Brito - World Number One 2012 (c)2008

I'm only looking for him to put in a two good rounds though BK as I'm going for the trade. A move from 13s to 12s would suit me grand. He might not have been great as you suggest but he still made it to the final and the world championship is all about grinding out results.
The talking point of the 1st round has to be the Maguire v Burnett match, that will be an edgy affair I'd imagine with every shot scrutinised!! _________________ -

2nd quarter blog up - http://www.olbg.com/blogs/blog_post.php?t=betking&id=68109 - and once again I may well have a controversial pick
Dont think Higgins will last long personally, doesnt help that hes in the hardest quarter, let alone the hardest half of the draw.
Agree on Maguire/Burnett, that match will have people going over it with a fine toothed comb after last time _________________ Michelle Larcher de Brito - World Number One 2012 (c)2008

Can i ask someones opinions of how bingham plays...i am in two mindes where to put money on ronnie getting highest break in that match 2/7 or him to be winning 8 fram outright at 2/5...I personally think he will be fired up for this tournament as 1) he loves playin it and more importantly 2) his father is out of jail for a while and I think for a complex personna as the great ronnie seems to have , That very positive thing for him should translate into the World Championship and more likely the first match..So what is better for me? highest break or ronnie to be winning after first 8 frames??
thanks |

Ronnie should be ahead after 8 frames and likewise should get the highest break, as long as he turns up. Even when its expected he can still throw a spanner in the plans.
2/7 for Ronnie to get the highest break seems fair, Bingham isnt a player who scores heavily a lot, I'd suggest if Ronnie makes a century it'd be enough to win the bet. _________________ Michelle Larcher de Brito - World Number One 2012 (c)2008

Just put a preview up for the outright market - http://www.olbg.com/blogs/blog_post.php?t=betking&id=68344
Reasons are all in the blog, but I fancy these 5 for decent trading opportunites -
Shaun Murphy @ 17.50
Ali Carter @ 13.50
Mark Selby @ 10.50
Peter Ebdon @ 42.00
Graeme Dott @ 110.00
Yes, Graeme Dott @ 110.00, time will tell if I'm a genius or a misguided fool _________________ Michelle Larcher de Brito - World Number One 2012 (c)2008

Got a blog up on the speciality bet markets now - http://www.olbg.com/blogs/blog_post.php?t=betking&id=68349 - several standout bets there.
Now all I have to do is sort out the blogs for Saturday's matches and I can go to bed!! _________________ Michelle Larcher de Brito - World Number One 2012 (c)2008
