Danny Willet 55/1 E/W
Danny Willet is a improving player no doubt and showing signs he has a big win in him Willet played some good stuff last week and finished tied 3rd at the Maybank and was not far off the winner Louis Oosthuizen who is in some form Willet does well here and got a cracking seventh last year and 28th the year before A very good field here so things will be tough but looks like he has got his game going again and with proven course form must be a threat and looks a shade overpriced to me and looks value for a place
Paul Casey 33/1 E/W
"Paul Casey was some player a few years ago but has had many shoulder injuries and not been the same but it wont be long before he is back and winning big events again Paul Casey won this back in 2006 and has proven course form so should be a threat regardless of recent form Casey played well in the Bahrain Invitational last week despite it being a little event but will take confidence from that despite losing to Bjorn in a playoff but showed signs he could be on his way back and hoping a return to a course he likes helps also"
Soren Kjeldsen 35/1 E/W
Poulter and Hanson are in top form and showed at the Masters how good they are in Colsaerts is the defending champ but will take them all in with a red hot player right now That is Soren Kjeldsen who had his best finish here last year when second and will be a threat here no doubt with his game in much better shape Kjeldsen took last week off and prepared for this well Kjeldsen hopefully can go one better but shown his last two events on this tour a win is not far off Been in the top five in his last two events the Dubai Desert and Silcillian Open and for me looks value at least for a place with proven course form and in form |

Bradley Dredge - EW @ 90/1
Bradley Dredge started very well in this event last year, he carded a 6 under par 65 to tie for 3rd place after day 1.
He finished 16th in total, with 4 rounds under par and a total of 15 under par, which was 9 behind the winner.
He has finished in the top 20 in his last 2 events so shows signs of coming back into form He made the weekend in more events last year then he failed to, as he has done this year.
Another positive start is required here and he could place well again.
Branden Grace - EW @ 60/1
Brandon Grace started the year in fantastic form, he finished 14th in the Africa Open then followed that up by winning his next events.
He won the Joburg Open and the Volvo Golf Champions events a week apart, only shooting 2 over par rounds in those 3 events.
He hasn't hit the same heights since those wins but has only failed to make the weekend in 2 of his 6 events since his last win.
He struggled in the Sicilian Open but has had a rest since then and could be ready to challenge for wins again.
Ian Poulter - WIN @ 13/1
Ian Poulter finds himself as the favourite for the China Open after finishing a very good 7th in the Masters.
He started off with 2 level par rounds of 72, but ended up on 5 under after he shot a 70 and a 69 over the weekend.
That was his best finish since finishing 4th in the Hong Kong Open back in December.
Ian has already won tour events in Singapore, Hong Kong & Japan during his career.
He comes here in form and is a worthy favourite. |

jaco van zyl he could be the one to play a good few rounds here and could be 1st round leader with 2 top ten finishes so far on the nationwide tour
3rd in the joburg and a little lack luster of late but has the potential to do well here .40/1
joost luiten this guy is on the verge of a win this season was in the top 20 last year with -16 and can do alot better this time round 40/1
marcel siem has had a couple of top tens and 2nd in the avantha
masters and is very capable of winning a event like this should suite him here and could get into the top 5 60/1 _________________ dont gamble if you cant afford to lose it |

Ian Poulter after a very good top 10 finish in this years Masters, and with a liking for Asian courses with much success, is justifiably favourite to win in China. Along with Peter Hanson in the form of his life at present,
Jamie Donaldson who did very well in this tournament last year, and is showing signs of reaching top form this, and Paul Lawrie, enjoying an "Indian Summer" in his golfing career, all 4 will be carrying my money.
For a relative outsider, the sometimes volatile Hennie Otto is worth a shout especially after his last 3 tournament finishes of 5th,9th and a tie for 7th last weekend. 50/1 seems enticing. |

Hi all
The European Tour stays in the far east with the Volvo China Open. This event tends to move course most years and this year they have moved Binhai Lakes GC in Tianjin. Winner last year was my pick from last week Nicolas Colsearts, however that was at a different course, the Luxehills International CC. This will be the first time at this course and so no course form to go on, not even looking on the OneAsia Tour for which this is a dual ranking event.
Like the ladies with no course form having a look at the betting and seeing who jumps out and the first is Peter Hanson who performed brilliantly at the Masters before fading in the final round, his 4th top 5 finish in 8 this year.
After a lean 2011 Soren Kjeldsen has started 2012 well and has 2 top 5 finishes in the last 3 events, in Dubai & Sicily, and 16th last week in Malaysia.
This event has allowed several players their first win on Tour and so one still looking for his first win is Danny Willett. Came onto tour a couple of years ago with big things expected but it hasn't quite come of yet, although there have been a couple of close calls. Last week played well and finished 3rd, the last time he was 3rd he finished 2nd the following week at the Dunhill Links. Backed him in this in 2010 and he was 28th although that was at a different course.
I think though I will stay with Willett as although Hanson is in form I think Willett's form is coming good and this could be the time for him to come good.
Cheers

Hi Mercer.
The China Open rotates course every year I think. So last years form and indeed all the China Open form is for different courses. Still form in Asia but not course form. I think it seems to be a fairly windy links type course this year, very long too. |

Victor Dubussion 70/1 bet365 Eachway Big hitting frenchman who is 7th for greens in regulation and 11th for driving distance seems like a winning combination on this weeks long tough course ..Pick 2 Richard sterne 175/1 5 times european tour winner who has missed 2 years golf through wrist and back problems . Is now back playing reguler form currently average but a player who will be back challenging leaderboards at sometime he sto good not to be so hopefuly this week at a very big price .. Good luck everyone |

This course is long at 7667 yards and only has four par 3's. The long hitters look likely to have an advantage so I am going with a couple of them. Firstly, I am selecting Nicolas Colsaerts ( 16/1 Win ) who is rated as the longest hitter off the tee on the Euro tour this year ( number one in the 2012 driving distance stats ). He is the defending Champion but this may not effect him too much and the course this week is a different one than used when he won last year and may possibly suit him more. He has been in reasonably good form this year so far with a 4th at the Volvo Golf Champions in January and has also managed three other top 10 finishes including a 3rd in the Sicily Open recently so he should start this tournament in a confident mood.
My other choice is Alexander Noren ( 80/1 ) who won twice on this tour in 2011. He has not been playing well in his recent tournaments but his two victories last year came after he had finished out of the top 80 in his previous event so he seems to be the type of player who can suddenly produce a good performance. He has performed well in Asia in the past and the long course in China this week should suit him and he is 35th in the 2012 driving distance stats.
Good luck

Morning All,
Not going well with my golf betting but will stick with it!
This week I am backing:
RHYS DAVIES 148/1
Seems to start well and then fade so hoping he can carry on through 4 rounds and look to trade.
DUBUISSON 90/1
Backed him a few weeks ago and from what I saw he had a good game just needs to improve round the greens and get a bit of luck.
FASTH 460/1
Complete outsider and just picked him for a fun bet really.
Good Luck all. |

Hello Folks,
Well, no course form to go by so seeing as it seems to be a links style course I'm looking at players who have had some success on similar courses,
Here are my E/W picks I've cursed this week,
Stephen Gallacher- won the dunhill links championship in 2004- 2nd last week to King Louis. Seems to be more consistent with the putter lately since changing to a smaller putter. Think I read or heard it's a putter he got out of his sons bag or something- quite long off the tee so if he can stay accurate he might be in with a shout.
Paul Lawrie Had to include Paul as he is a recent winner in good form and has won the open and the dunhill links. pretty long and accurate and with recent wins in Qatar this year and open de andlaucia at the end of last season he's remembered how to get the job done
Michael Hoey- Was debating wether to go for Michael Hoey or Shane Lowry but plumped for Michael as he has proven links pedigree winning the dunhill links last year. recently won the Trophee Hasan in march. Missed the cut last week in Malasyia but I'm hoping this course will suit better.
Simon Dyson- 2009 winner of Dunhill links. 6 times European tour winner- 24th last week in Malaysia after some indifferent results but likes his golf in Asia and can hopefully prove it again this week.
finally- going to have a cheeky wee e/w on Damien Mcgrane - seems to like the links and windy conditions, so hoping he can get a place.
good luck all,
Dave |

Apologies team but tight for time so will have to be brief.
Have gone for players with recent form, links form, decent length and can handle windy conditions. Got some good early prices too;
Chris Wood great final round in Sicily and just failed to catch Olesen. Loves windy conditions and wind. 40/1
V Dubisson good young player and good finish last week. 80/1
R Wattel long hitter, class player and in decent form including last week. 100/1
T Goya can handle the win as per his Madeira win and is finding form too. Long enough too and could surprise. 80/1
A Wall good results in last couple of tournaments, again can handle windy links courses and should have won more. Decent form with a 6th in Sicily and 17th in Morocco. 80/1
Good luck all |
