Bit of a stupid question here,

I'm trying to learn how to play poker, getting as much practice as possible, reading articles and watching tutorials/pokertube. The problem I have is that I am a little tiny bit underage, as most of you know in Ireland this doesn't matter, so i can play live poker in pubs etc. But I want to learn how to play first, I can't play on the casinos free table websites as I have no credit card obviously and facebook poker is poopoo, any advice?

the only real way you could do that matey is to play the live poker in the pubs (providing that in itself is legal), which is actually a lot different to poker online in my opinion, other than that, the only way you could learn online would be through facebook, yes it is a terrible, but it's probably not much worse off than using the play money provided on the various poker sites out there, until you are of the legal age in Ireland to play properly online. Just keep watching those vids, picking up your own poker mentality and preparing for the real thing Win

No such thing as a stupid question mate !!

You say that you can play live, but want to learn how to play first.... its a bit of a chicken/egg question!!

Yes you can and should read as many books and articles etc as you can... but you also need to put this into practice and the only way is to play!

post hands up here for discussion - theres plenty of folks that will give their 2pence

Whether thats round the table with a few friends, in pub leagues or the facebook/mobile apps it doesnt really matter. The free play games, no matter what their origin will be very similar in play to even the micro stakes I play at online. You will get plenty of good players, but also more than a few stations or folks shoving all in 80 bbs with top pair or flush draw. If you can regularly beat those games you will be laughing when you can deposit Win

btw - i censored your post a little m8 - no poopoo words please Wink
