Tough races but I think if the rain comes Soul is the one for the 3.05 Newbuty. If the ground comes up soft then will inconvenience SS and 7-2 looks like value.
A little bit of a bet against the weather but 7-2 looks a value play for a horse who I am sure is up to G1 class over here. maybe a bet to Lay as SdS rode him sensibly last time and Frankie just pointed in BCs Ascot race.

| If the ground remains good, then I'm all over Strong Suit. He's 5/6 outside of Gp1 company, 3/4 over 7f. He's the classiest horse in the field and unlike Soul has proven his stamina over this trip on more than one occasion. |

I think on good ground Strong Suit would win at a canter, he won two group 2 last season very easily and people say he hasnt been the same since, however he has ran at a mile twice which clearly dosnt suit him and ran on very heavy ground last time. The ground is meant to be good at newbury so the 2/1 looks absolutely massive for a horse of this class.
Was wondering if anyone can help in regards to this, I backed Strong Suit yesterday at 7/2 in the NRNB market, so will I face a deduction with the cecil horse being pulled? if so how much?. |

thats the key not sure it will and on on top form then SS will win but 2-1 or 7-2 you have to take the value option no matter what you think will win. |

| Don't see why the ground won't remain good. Weather forecast looks pretty clear to me. I also don't think either is overpriced or offers significant value. |

| supposed too be a fine day at Newbury, so I can see the ground getting abit faster and not worse and if that is the case then Masked Marvel in the 2.30 look's a real good bet it has beat Brown Panther quite easily in the past and holds that horse on form I think and Mount Athos, I am still not sure it's form is as great as some people are making out and will be found out in the top company today and for me the biggest danger too Masked Marvel, could be Harris Tweed, who proved hard too catch here in the past when winning quite comfy in the end but has a penalty today for that and that is enough too swing me back towards Masked Marvel, who I still think is top class and it's worst races have been on softish ground wich the horse seems to dislike, but with todays fine forecast and the ground should be quickening up all the time and should be fine and the price of Masked Marvel look's a real good on at the moment 4/1 some places. |

| Good to Firm at Newbury, perfect ground and trip for Strong Suit and a drop in class, it would be a big suprise if he were beat and 2/1 still available. |

Any of you traders out there should beat the SP if you can get the 8/1 for Colour Shades at Stan James in the 2.05 Doncaster - she should appreciate this extra furlong and is entitled to come on for her debut run and stable in fine form at the moment. |

just to put a different spin on the 305 has anyone got any thoughts on Pastoral Player around 6-1 available performs well on faster ground is 1/3 on course and 2/7 in distance. Darryl Holland on board today won on it at Haydock over this distance.
And an outsider ew Majestic Myles 25-1 form reads well over this distance bar the last race..... |

looks quite a difficult day today.
have my eye on two
MOUNT ATHOS
STRONG SUIT
but will decide late as i want to see how they go to post, both look to have outstanding chances, in terms of mount athos they want to go to the Melbourne cup, so are looking for a win. trainer and jockey have a 60% strike rate at this track???
In terms of SS everything seems to be pointing in his favor, ground, track etc.. i just have a little niggling doubt maybe as i like the look of ALANZA
any thoughts |
