This really is ruining my enjoyment of racing at the moment. In July and still looking for soft ground sloggers. Each day you get nr nr nr!! Rule 4 after rule 4 - anyone else on a low at mo or is it a case of roll your sleeves up and get on with it! _________________ Slow and steady wins the race! |

I've noticed it myself. I havent been backing horses of late, only in the big meetings. The irish Derby summed up whats wrong at the moment. Why was there only 5 horses in that race? Maybe someone more in the know with the sport can explain the politics behind it? Was it the ground or was it no one wanted to race their horse against O Briens Camelot? Or is the reason for the poor showing something else? _________________ Its only money! |

Yep Scaifey, I can't get as enthusiastic about it lately. I've always believed in the form book, but it's hard to at the moment. I've been baffled by a lot of results lately and this is coming from someone who actively seeks to find outsiders. I demand sunshine!
Oh and if anyone watched the twitter Q & A with Tom Segal earlier, even he said there's Camelot and the rest are a terrible bunch of 3 yr olds. So we have no idea how good he actually is _________________ Love Outsiders...Hate Favourites

| I mentioned on yesterday's discussion thread that the Yorkshire Post's tipster "The Duke" is 8/8 on his daily NAP's over the past 8 days. Today he looks to be tipping Glass Office who runs in the 6.50 at Kempton, he priced up fairly short but is much fancied to pick up a win here. |

I don't know about "terrible bunch of 3yo's" but I do think that Camelot thus far hasn't beaten a hell of a lot. The fact that he won the Guineas is more down to the lack of opposition in my opinion than him having the speed for it... Most Improved would almost certainly beat him over a mile now if they faced (which of course they won't).
It does seem a very sensible idea not to take on Frankel in the Juddmonte!
There could well be one or two hiding in the woodwork though to come out later in the season and improve past the rest. So maybe the Leger will be the time to take him on?
As to the Irish Derby, I'd be tempted to say that they were scared of taking on Camelot. But the race frequently doesn't get the backing from trainers of the Epsom and French equivalents. _________________ "The problem with the future is that there are more things that could happen than will happen" - Plato (liberally paraphrased)

The extra work that goes into up-dating the ratings system is playing havoc with my visits to the race-course...........
Reasons...the going changes....it has been the most unpredictable that i can ever remember in my time in the racing game.
I do feel we would have had more true to form running than we are experiencing at the moment, if the going conditions had not been as adverse as they have been this flat season. _________________ Trading or Betting Blogs & System section Daily Lays

I'm not sure Most Improved would even beat his stablemate Cogito if they
met again Des, He got the run of the race the other day and some hard luck
stories behind,, just my opinion though,
We'll see how good Camelot is when/if he takes on his elders, |
