Quite The Man - 03 Feb 2012 14:15 - Catterick, 2m 3f 0y
Trainer: J M Jefferson
Jockey: D C Costello
Form figures: 24-1428
Age: 7
Country: IRE
Past Form: He has won a hurdle race, a NH flat race and a chase from 2m to 2m 1f on good and good to soft ground. Beaten 20l behind Quicuyo at 8-1 when eighth of 12 on his latest outing in a chase at Doncaster over 2m 3f (good to soft) in December last year.
Your comments: deswalker Alert 101111Went on as a useful Novice hurdler but he is a useful Novice chaser now. Lightly raced and looks to still have scope for improvement off a mark in the 120's. I'd say keep him on

Raimond Ridge - 03 Feb 2012 14:25 - Lingfield, 0m 6f 0y
Trainer: D Shaw
Jockey: D Fox
Form figures: 67-7664
Age: 6
Country: IRE
Past Form: Winner of five races from 5f to 6f on polytrack. Finished 1 1/2l behind Royal Envoy when fourth of 11 at 16-1 on his latest outing at Kempton over 6f last month. Runs from 1lb out of handicap.
Your comments: deswalker 250112An old friend from the alerts. Prominent all the way at Kempton today and was still there at the end, this horse runs his best races held up. One to watch out for in a Lingfield handicap soon, late and fast round the outside.

Finalist - 03 Feb 2012 14:55 - Lingfield, 0m 7f 0y
Trainer: D K Ivory
Jockey: K T O'Neill
Form figures: 75824-7
Age: 3
Country: GB
Past Form: Placed twice in eight starts. Beaten 6l behind Chapellerie at 7-1 when seventh of 8 on her latest outing here over 6f last month. She is wearing cheekpieces for the first time.
Your comments: meoldmate 191011was slow away, gave the field a good start, when hit the straight, FINALIST flew home and could not challenge the winner but if starting on terms and possibly over further could have chance of winning a race this term on the allweather.

Hathaway - 03 Feb 2012 14:10 - Wolverhampton, 1m 1f 103y
Trainer: W M Brisbourne
Jockey: Nora Looby
Form figures: 8972-82
Age: 5
Country: IRE
Past Form: A winner at 1m. Beaten a short head by Fire In Babylon when second of 13 at 20-1 on her latest outing at Kempton over 1m 3f last month.
Your comments: InsideMan 211211Unlucky loser, he made up lots of ground on the outside of the track, he was taken the longest way around which didn't help his chance. He will go close NTO

Where's Reiley - 03 Feb 2012 16:20 - Wolverhampton, 0m 5f 216y
Trainer: A J Lidderdale
Jockey: J F McDonald
Form figures: 1338-77
Age: 6
Country: USA
Past Form: Has won eight races from 5f to 6f including 7 wins on the all-weather (6 FB, 1 PO). Beaten 7l behind Master Of Disguise at 5-2jt-fav when seventh of 8 on his latest outing here over 5f last month.
Your comments: beepee1984 Alert 080311Well handicapped, won easy. Last time it won it won 3 on the bounce, starting this sequence (hopefully) of 6lb lower than last win. Switched off : Going supremely well when falling 2 out, Handicap rating 112, if off a similar mark again may be worth following. It's a 5F Southwell CD specialist

One Lucky Lady - 04 Feb 2012 13:35 - Ffos Las, 2m 0f 0y
Trainer: N J Henderson
Jockey: B J Geraghty
Form figures: 21
Age: 4
Country: GB
Past Form: Won on her latest outing in a maiden hurdle race when 1-4fav at Folkestone over 2m 1f (soft) last month, beating Ya Hafed by 20l.
Your comments: meoldmate alert 181010 & deswalker Alert 120711From the Barry Hills yard made all at Pontefract and should be able to find another race to dominate in the near future with conditions to suit. Warm in preliminaries but did attract some money and looked to be challenging 2 out before flattening out. Will be better off for that run and should be better than her mark in time.

Mohayer - 04 Feb 2012 15:20 - Ffos Las, 3m 4f 0y
Trainer: Jonjo O'Neill
Jockey: R P McLernon
Form figures: 1543-11
Age: 10
Country: IRE
Past Form: Winner of three hurdle races and three chases from 2m to 3m 1f on good to soft and heavy ground. A winner at 10-1 in a chase here over 3m 1f (heavy) on his latest outing in December last year, beating Kaybeew by 6l. Has also won at Market Rasen this season.
Your comments: InsideMan 211211Probably my strongest alert of the six I'm posting up. It travelled really well throughout and he jumped every fence well and he was ridden with confidence so I expect this one to win again sometime soon, probably shouldering a 6 lb + penalty if not more but he won so well, hopefully the handicapper doesn't over-react though that would be the problem with this alert

Gala Spirit - 04 Feb 2012 14:05 - Wolverhampton, 0m 7f 32y
Trainer: P D Niven
Jockey: T Eaves
Form figures: 04914-3
Age: 5
Country: IRE
Past Form: A winner at 7f on polytrack. Third of 12 behind Shaunas Spirit beaten 2l at 10-1 on her latest outing at Kempton over 7f last month.
Your comments: bull;y1981 190112Looks well handicapped off the current mark. Lightly raced on the aw. Back from a 75 day break to finish 3rd at Wolverhampton. Prior to the break finished a nk behind berbice who won nto a few lb higher. Expecting a bit of improvement and this one to be found a race shortly

Yours - 04 Feb 2012 14:05 - Wolverhampton, 0m 7f 32y
Trainer: K A Ryan
Jockey: Amy Ryan
Form figures: 05530-0
Age: 4
Country: GB
Past Form: Placed once in eight starts. Beaten 12l behind Kyncraighe at 16-1 when 10th of 12 on her latest outing over this course and distance last month. She is wearing cheekpieces for the first time.
Your comments: drogerson Alert 300311Missed the break by a good few lengths which proved costly, and showed slight immaturity before finally picking up inside the last 2f and finishing a couple of lengths behind the leaders.

Opus Maximus - 04 Feb 2012 15:15 - Wolverhampton, 1m 1f 103y
Trainer: C R Dore
Jockey: T Eaves
Form figures: 1-95765
Age: 7
Country: IRE
Past Form: Has won 14 races from 6f to 1m 1f including 4 wins on polytrack. Finished 2 1/2l behind Munsarim when fifth of 7 at 6-1 on his latest outing at Lingfield over 1m last month.
Your comments: InsideMan Alert 250711This horse was fifth in a claimer yesterday but he was always travelling well and I think he was unlucky not to have got closer. He does look well handicapped off a mark of 70 at the moment and the handicapper will drop him if anything for that effort and I definitely think he could be winning a race or two soon. He's also likely to go off at a big price on his next start so he could be one to watch out for

Sunday 05 2012

Danceintothelight - 05 Feb 2012 13:30 - Musselburgh, 2m 4f 0y
Trainer: Micky Hammond
Jockey: Joe Colliver
Form figures: 9-3C4F6
Age: 5
Country: GB
Past Form: Successful in two hurdle races at 2m on good to soft and heavy ground. Finished 15l behind Allow Me when sixth of 12 at 16-1 on his latest outing in a hurdle race at Catterick over 2m 3f (good to soft) last month.
Your comments: deswalker 051211Interesting today that this horse was stepped up in trip for the first time, and it really should suit him, so it was no surprise to see him finish well into 4th. However, his jockey didn't raise his whip once (may have lost it actually, difficult to tell). He has been busy recently and I'm not certain that softer ground will suit over winter but one to look out for in handicaps on Good-ish ground at 2m 4f+

Ebanour - 05 Feb 2012 13:30 - Musselburgh, 2m 4f 0y
Trainer: D McCain Jnr
Jockey: J M Maguire
Form figures: 38-6321
Age: 5
Country: IRE
Past Form: Successful in a hurdle race and a NH flat race at 2m and 2m 3f on good and soft ground. Won on his latest outing in a hurdle race when 2-1fav at Doncaster over 2m 3f (good) in December last year, beating Dark Shadow by 3 1/2l.
Your comments: Aidanldrebin Alert 260211Well bred, highly regarded gelding who got the job done in good style on debut; will be plenty more to come on better ground and has all the makings of a very smart sort.

Stormy Weather - 05 Feb 2012 16:00 - Musselburgh, 2m 0f 0y
Trainer: B Ellison
Jockey: S Thomas
Form figures: 9-64621
Age: 6
Country: FR
Past Form: Successful in two hurdle races at 2m on soft and heavy ground. Won on his latest outing in a hurdle race when 7-4jt-fav at Newcastle over 2m (soft) last month, beating Diamond D'amour by 2l.
Your comments: deswalker 090112Possibly won with a little in hand on saturday over a previous winner. Could easily be more to come off his revised mark.

Lucky Diva - 06 Feb 2012 14:50 - Wolverhampton, 1m 5f 194y
Trainer: W G M Turner
Jockey: Jake Payne
Form figures: 1442-55
Age: 5
Country: GB
Past Form: Successful at 1m 5f and 2m 1f. Finished 6l behind Fantino when fifth of 9 at 9-1 on her latest outing here over 2m earlier this month.
Your comments: InsideMan 211211 Travelled extremely well throughout, was still on the bridle when a lot of his rivals were off it and he was unlucky to get blocked off slightly in the home straight but there should be more to come I reckon

Trainer: D Shaw
Jockey: Neil Farley
Form figures: 08-8124
Age: 5
Country: GB
Past Form: Winner of five races from 6f to 1m including 3 wins on the all-weather (2 FB, 1 PO). Finished 3l behind Andiamo Via when fourth of 12 at 9-1 on her latest outing over this course and distance last month. She is wearing a visor for the first time.
Your comments: johnthepowerbirt 100112 Was slow out of the stalls and run into a wall of 4 horses when coming with a late run on Thursday, could be good for a place?

Raimond Ridge - 08 Feb 2012 14:20 - Kempton, 0m 5f 0y
Trainer: D Shaw
Jockey: Martin Lane
Form figures: 7-76645
Age: 6
Country: IRE
Past Form: Winner of five races from 5f to 6f on polytrack. Finished 1 1/4l behind Do More Business when fifth of 9 at 8-1 on his latest outing at Lingfield over 6f earlier this month.
Your comments: deswalker 250112 An old friend from the alerts. Prominent all the way at Kempton today and was still there at the end, this horse runs his best races held up. One to watch out for in a Lingfield handicap soon, late and fast round the outside.

White Shift - 08 Feb 2012 14:20 - Kempton, 0m 5f 0y
Trainer: P Howling
Jockey: J Fanning
Form figures: 06-9453
Age: 6
Country: IRE
Past Form: Has won eight races from 5f to 6f including 3 wins on polytrack. Third of 11 behind Rightcar beaten 1 1/4l at 14-1 on her latest outing here over 6f last month.
Your comments: blueboy68 Alert 150411 Was drawn widest of all and switched right after start, not clear run and ran on well, is handicapped to win now and better drawn next time should help it to win

Cotes Du Rhone - 08 Feb 2012 17:00 - Kempton, 1m 4f 0y
Trainer: P D Evans
Jockey: L Morris
Form figures: 8905-23
Age: 3
Country: IRE
Past Form: Placed twice in six starts. Third of 8 behind Quiet Appeal beaten 2 3/4l at 9-2 on his latest outing at Wolverhampton over 1m 4f last month.
Your comments: deswalker 040112 Ran on in fair fashion in a terrible level of selling handicap today after being backed beforehand at a big price. First off the bridle and looking well beat he only really started going at the furlong pole. Type to pop up in an all-weather handicap at around 12f+.

Lastkingofscotland - 08 Feb 2012 18:00 - Kempton, 0m 6f 0y
Trainer: C R Dore
Jockey: Hayley Turner
Form figures: 0-51813
Age: 6
Country: IRE
Past Form: Has won nine races from 6f to 1m including 6 wins on polytrack. Third of 11 behind Hawk Moth beaten 1 1/2l at 5-1 on his latest outing at Wolverhampton over 7f last month. Has won at Lingfield and Wolverhampton this season.
Your comments: miniman 101111 On a winnable mark of 63 on the AW. Was helped by a claimer taking 7lbs off his back as well. He was drawn in stall 4 but was cut up at the start by the horse inside of him and subsequently had to be settled at the back. He travelled off the pace and was going well, tracking the leader 2f out whilst trying to gain a run up the rail. Was held in but when switched out wide for the last 1/2 f he picked up really well and was an unlucky 2nd. He's not exactly a world beater but shou

Your comments: rasputine Alert 210311 Pulled up and ran no race when should have been one of leading lights

Go All The Way - 09 Feb 2012 15:40 - Thurles, 2m 6f 0y
Trainer: J T R Dreaper
Jockey: A E Lynch
Form figures: 2/4-8
Age: 7
Country: IRE
Past Form: Placed in a NH flat race from three starts. Well beaten at 11-1 behind Lovethehigherlaw when eighth of 15 on his latest outing in a Grade 1 NH flat race in the Group 1 Betchronicle.com Champion I.N.H. Flat Race at Punchestown over 2m (good) in May last year. Having his first run for a new stable today.
Your comments: MoleMan Alert 2220410 & curwinkle Alert 230311 Made a promising run on it's debut at Punchestown came 2nd at 20/1 flying home down the straight has a great chance when next time out! Given Nigel Twiston Davies' yard were in poor form, his 4th in the Champion Bumper looks a sound effort and he was never nearer, looks one to keep an eye on over hurdles next term.

Hi All,

Raimond Ridge, White Shift and Lastkingofscotland along with Avonrose and Opus Maximus and Quite the Man, Finalist, Hathaway & Where's Reillyall sent to the Glue Factory as they have had more than 3 opportunities to shine.

If the Alerter feels there is good reason to keep any on then by all means let me know?

Raimond Ridge has only had the 2 runs since I put him back up on these Midas Touch and he went very close a couple of runs ago... won't be long til he repays faith... Win

As to Quite The Man, well I still think he has progress to come but I'm not so sure that its just round the corner. Let him go!

Thanks deswalker

It's nice to see someone is still popping in on this thread and checking what is "going down". Must admit forgot you had resurrected RR so I will leave it on the Alerts to see if it can produce a profit? Cheeky

A difficult week so far with low quality racing and many meetings called off - but here goes .

Friday 10th February :

Pullmen - 10 Feb 2012 14:05 - Kempton, 2m 0f 0y
Trainer: A Reid
Jockey: Harry Skelton
Form figures: 407
Age: 4
Country: GB
Past Form: Yet to place in three starts. Well beaten at 66-1 behind Flementime when seventh of 9 on his latest outing in a maiden NH flat race at Plumpton over 2m 2f (good to soft) last month.
Your comments: meoldmate 040112 From the Andrew Reid yard. Swerved badly right at the start and nearly ran out, once settled at the back he showed he had some ability, by travelling well and staying on with jockey only using hands and heels. Big priced runner today, could improve for the run and over two miles could be rewarding.

Gores Island - 10 Feb 2012 14:40 - Kempton, 2m 0f 0y
Trainer: Noel T Chance
Jockey: R Johnson
Form figures: 23-8511
Age: 6
Country: IRE
Past Form: Successful in two hurdle races at 2m and 2m 3f on good and good to soft ground. A winner at 14-1 in a hurdle race at Doncaster over 2m 3f (good) on his latest outing last month, beating Sixty Something by 1/2l.
Your comments: The Executioner Alert 050111 ( Noel Chance ) : Ran in to a very decent prospect when runner up to Knight Pass in a Southwell Bumper on his debut ; travelled well throughout and is entitled to come on for the run. Should stay further in time.

Spacecraft - 10 Feb 2012 13:20 - Southwell, 1m 0f 0y
Trainer: C N Kellett
Jockey: J Fanning
Form figures: 561-224
Age: 5
Country: IRE
Past Form: A winner at 1m on fibresand. Finished 5l behind Fluctuation when fourth of 14 at 13-2 on his latest outing here over 7f last month.
Your comments: beepee1984 100112 Well backed fave today that ran on well to finish 3rd after being impeded on the bend, also noted that he stayed on the rail (where it always appears the ground is slower) a bit longer than they usually do. Appears to be off a good mark at the moment and should be winning soon.

Queen Of Denmark - 10 Feb 2012 19:10 - Wolverhampton, 1m 4f 50y
Trainer: M Johnston
Jockey: J Fanning
Form figures: 1
Age: 4
Country: USA
Past Form: Half-sister to Vengeance Of Rain, won nine times between 1m and 1m 4f including four Group 1 races. A winner at 7-2 at Kempton over 1m 3f on her latest outing last month, beating Hawawi by 2l.
Your comments: RomanyKing 250112 Won impressively on debut in an 11f maiden at Kempton. Extended body beautifully when asked, showed gears and pace beating a well backed favourite Hawawi
