COLOUR GUARD
Ran on under hands and heels in a good race at York today. Never really put in and could easily be better than that. On closer inspection he has an entry for the Royal Hunt Cup. _________________ "The problem with the future is that there are more things that could happen than will happen" - Plato (liberally paraphrased)

SEA SMOKE (Luca Cumani)
Made his racecourse debut over 10f. at Sandown yesterday. This gelded grey son of Dalakhani totally missed the break but made ground up quite quickly, he raced on the inside of the field and as what happens on a regular basis didn't get the clearest of runs but was still running on (quite surprisingly considering the effort made to make up the lost ground at the start) at the death to finish fifth.
Ten to twelve furlongs looks ideal and he should be winning an ordinary maiden soon before going handicapping. |

Thanks MT, deswalker, spinningcoin and Mike Mercury sorry I was a little late putting these on, been really busy at work.
Might have ended up with "egg on my face" des if Colour Guard had run any thing like yesterday, must have swerved the Royal Hunt Cup but to no avail?

It was number 32 on the list for the Hunt Cup midas, was 2nd reserve and just missed out! Mind, I had it down to win yesterday so maybe its not as good as I thought... we'll see... there could be more targets down the line.

DISPOL DIVA
Came nearside rail in Apprentice handicap at Windsor in the first race when every other field later on came up the far rail. She "won" her race on that side by a long way and it was reappearance after a long Lay off so there is little doubt in my mind that she is going to be capable of winning off the current mark when things fall right.
FRUITY BUN
Debut last week in a 2yo 6f seller at Windsor and it was encouraging, for all the level of race was low. She travelled quite well up to halfway and was not asked too many questions once it was clear that the winner had flown.
IFFLEY FIELDS
Well supported in a 2yo 6f seller at Windsor from 7/1 into 9/2, in a race which David Evans targets. This one was hampered badly on the rail and had no chance subsequently but showed enough to expect that he might be capable of winning at a low grade.
THE CAYTERERS
Held up at rear on ground soft enough for this horse, he ran on under hands and heels at the death of the race over a mile. His ideal trip is 10f and it wouldn't be any surprise to see him at that trip on a firmer surface next time he's out and he should go well. _________________ "The problem with the future is that there are more things that could happen than will happen" - Plato (liberally paraphrased)

GABRIAL'S KING
Held up towards rear, this horse was one of only a couple to make progress from off the pace in the race. He also met trouble and had to weave around other competitors so the effort should probably be marked up accordingly. _________________ "The problem with the future is that there are more things that could happen than will happen" - Plato (liberally paraphrased)

ROYAL REYAH
Funny race this, with a false start meaning that most of the field did 4f before the race began. Royal Reyah broke well first time, but not as cleanly second then had to try and make ground. On his good ground form he's still potentially well-in off the mark and the way he finished his race suggests that he could prove that soon. _________________ "The problem with the future is that there are more things that could happen than will happen" - Plato (liberally paraphrased)

CAPONATA
This big filly is from the Weld yard and looks a VERY smart prospect - sent off a 5/1 chance on debut at Fairyhouse it absolutely hacked up winning by an eased down 5l. It has just had its second run this time in a class 1 backed into 3's and again travelled with great ease and when asked to quicken did so in tremendous style winning by around 2 lengths with more in hand. Running over 1m 2f was no problem but with her running style could see her improving even more upped in trip to 1m 4f in time. Certainly one to stay on the right side of and looks to have a bright future ahead of her. _________________ Slow and steady wins the race! |

EPSOM SALTS
I'm going to put this one up just because I have been noting this one being campaigned at between a mile and 10f generally this season, whereas he is a guaranteed stayer who won twice at 2 miles last season. He should go well when either returned to Epsom, or stepped back up in trip. _________________ "The problem with the future is that there are more things that could happen than will happen" - Plato (liberally paraphrased)
