|

Ive noticed a few tipsters have benefited from some big priced winners and wondered if I should limit the max bet on things like Correct Score, First Goal Scorer and HalfTime/Full Time
For Limiting
It could make a mockery of the competition when a few people can "hit the jacpot" and beat the consistent tipsters
Against
You can tip 66-1 or more horses so why not football events. If it is easier to find long priced winners at football then we should all be doing it, not restricting it
Conclusion
I think leave as is - but what do others think? |

I can see both sides of the argument... well, at the beginning i always had the feeling that footie tipsters were severely disadvantaged in the competition (when there was only one prize.. i.e. the overall). Footie tipsters require more bets, and thus accuracy, to win the competition... i.e. almost hopeless!
I remembered raising this up, and you said the footie tipsters will have an equal chance with the new improvements which include exact score, first GS etc... As an exclusively footie punter/tipster, I can't complain against that. But honestly, it does seem a bit wierd to tip maximum stakes (or points) on such bets as i doubt punters do this most of the time.... maybe HT/FT = 1/1 is alright in some cases.
Antony, i think you hit the jackpot there when you argued the 2 cases... and i think there's really nothing more to add. I guess i'm one of the few who longed for the days where we were limited to losses of £1000 a month.. the tipping quality was better then... I have to admit that even now, I just put maximum OLBG stakes in the majority of my tips in the competition as i don't see any point in being realistic when most competitors aren't. Not whinging though, it's just a matter of adaptation. |

I know what you're saying but it killed the competition for a lot of people in the old days when they ran out of money on day 3. Many never returned, and thats not good for the site, and really isnt that good for the competition either (which is about tipsters having fun and learning in a safe environament as well as about being the best).
What we have now is good for the size of site we are (200-400 active tipsters per month). I do expect this to grow though to 1000-2000 over the course of the year, and as/when that happens things may need to change as the sheer number of tips may
- slow the site
- make the tip lists enormous
Ive already made some steps like the expanding tip menus to help manage the expected volumes neatly but other things will need to change too in time one of which may be to restrict the number of tips people can make and reducing or eliminating the daily top up would be a way to do that |

| well, maybe reducing the daily top up is more sensible and a good compromise. Not sure why it is 100 pounds.. maybe it should be 50 as thats the minimum stake. Just my 2 cents, so please don't flame me! lol! |
