Ive been looking at the betting and keep coming back to the same bet. Spain ht/ft is priced at 2/1 SkyBet(ive not looked elswhere)
spain are euro and world champs, qualified easily scored enough in friendlies in build up and in usual good form.
italy on the other hand are in total dissaray. Lost last 3 games in build up to euros, players have had to leave squad due to match fixing scandal and overall just a dark cloud hanging over them and i see them as a very average side.
Spain should have too much and i think this ht/ft bet represents good value

Have to disagree with you Ritchie. Italy qualified with 2 matches spare and only conceded 2 goals. Went 13 months without conceding at all. Since Prandelli took command they have not lost a competitive match. As with yesterday i think we will see much closer matches than might be expected by most.

Are Italy really going to be as dreadful as the odds suggest? (4/1). Draw/Draw is (9/2), Draw/Spain is (7/2). Half Time draw is (21/20)

There will pressure on Spain to show they are as good a team as they were in the World Cup and Italy know that this will be their toughest game. Their mindset like Portugals last night will be to shut up shop and look for a goal on the break. Italy then take on Croatia and Ireland both games they will view as winnable.

So i expect tonight the Azzuri to be packed full of defensive focused players and i will be backing the half time draw, and trading out as the half progresses.

Spain v Italy Draw 3.5
"The very first thing I will suggest is that Spain are far too short at 1.9 to win this first group c game of the competition. Yes, I concede the Italians are taking on the current European and World Champions, but since those tournament victories, everyone has sort of got used to how the Spanish play and now allow them the time on the ball without chasing it around too much and thus wearing themselves out. Teams allow Spain to come at them now and make their own mistakes, and with Puyol out of defence and Villa's goals missing, Italy have a far better chance than the odds being offered. I'm not about to suggest we run out and throw everything on Italy to win the game at over 4/1 at BetVictor, although it is somewhat of a temptation. The Italians have won just two games to a conclusion from 12 competition matches since winning the world cup in 2006. With that statistic in mind, suddenly the 4/1 doesnt look as big as it did at first! Also Italy have lost their last three friendly matches away from home at Uruguay, United States and a most recent 3-0 drubbing from the Russians. Now we see why Spain are a shade of odds on the bag the first three points here. Yesterday we saw two tight games and i think we are most probably in for another today. most of this game will be played in the middle of the park with the Spanish expected to hold much of the possession. The full back will be pushing on to perhaps offer some width, but i feel Spain will not have the penetration to get through the Italian back line, conversely, I feel the Italian will offer little in attack either. I am quite happy to back both the draw and 0-0 scoreline on the half time market, and ultimately i don't have any confidence backing either team to win over the 90 minutes. UNDER 2.5 is simply not possible to back at 1.6, we do of course expect few goals but at that price, one is tempted to go the other side of the line for the value. I will however leave the goals market alone. Spain have not beaten Italy before in a major tournament, not in normal time at least, three draw and the same number of defeats against the Italians and again, that 4/1 starts to look big again. And here is a fabulous statistic. In the qualifying rounds, Italy didnt conceded a single second half goal. Now given my confidence in a low scoring stalemate for the first half, If Spain havent done the job by the 45minute mark, the question is will they be able to do it at all? I am now convinced that laying Spain is the correct bet, but if backing do we go for the draw, (most likely), or Italy win, (best price)? The fact Italy have won just 2/12 (tournament games) and Spain are predictable now but still effective leaves me no option but to cover the draw. Let's see if I end up kicking myself if Italy are three points richer at the end of the day."

Antonio Nocerino to be booked 5/2 NAP

Nocerino is the main engine of the Italian midfield and covers loads of ground but his game will he affected and doubt he will get forward much here,he will be non stop chasing the Spanish midfielders and see him getting frustrated and reminds me of another Gattuso and not the best at tackling

Never been booked for Italy in 11 games but domestically often booked and remember him getting booked 14 times in 32 games when at Juve

Booked three times in his last nine games last season for Milan and for me will be no match for the Spanish midfield and see how easy the refs like to dish out the cards here
