Will update my thoughts later this week

Bank 0.00
Week 1 - 100.00 - no bet made
Week 2 - 100.00
Bank 200.00
Todays lunchtime kick off is my selection for week 2.
Although the home team have never made it easy for Chelsea - the London team have won all matches at the JJB including 3 premiership ties and one FA cup match.
I think that it will be a few weeks before opposing teams will come to terms with Scolari's philosophy and it won't be perhaps until early October before teams can formulate a game plan to cope with their style of play.

I am sticking with Chelsea for this week's pick.
Tottenham have not got off to the start that everyone thought - with the sale of Keane and the uncertainty of Berbatov as well as on/off sagas of incoming foreign players it appears that Ramos is now suffering the same as previous managers where the direction seems to be a little wayward.
Scolari is about to experience his first London derby and he will not need to motivate his players.

After last week's let down I am switching to the homeland to earn me a few shekels this week.
Wales v. Azerbaijan is becoming a regular fixture in the international calendar with these teams drawn against each other for the last two qualifying campaigns in the Euros and the World Cup. Wales have finished on top at home on each occasion 4-0 and 2-0 and as you can see - have not conceded a goal on the home leg against this team.
Although, reportedly only 8,000 tickets have been sold for this game - one plus point is that the roof has been closed so as not to damage the already infamous pitch from the incessant rain we have had this last couple of weeks laid on pallets, it always has been a less than satisfactory surface for soccer and lessons should have been learnt in the last campaign when the fans started to stop attending. This game should have been played at the Liberty in Swansea to try at least create an atmosphere for the boys in red, as they were never going to fill the seats - I can tell you- even when there is 40,000 in the Millenium it is still a hard place to create an intimidating roar.
Anyway, rant over
Wales to win.

After the internationals I am switching to a couple of miles, if that, from Stamford Bridge to Craven Cottage for my beat the bookies bet this week.
After reading some excellene, as usual, and informative posts it is Fulham and Bolton for me this week.
With the news that AJ may be fit and must be chomping at the bit to play and on the strength of their last win at home Mr Hodgson must feel he has a great opportunity to bag three more points. There appears to be a renewed optimism on the Thames after last season's near relegation call and Roy Hodgson is building a team of players that he wants in his squad.
In my eyes Bolton are not offering anything new and are struggling to attract players and crowds to take them on to the next level.

Hi guys

Staying in London this week but nipping off to the East End and the Bowline.
West Ham, under new management and with a fantastic transfer coup this week in Steve Clarke from Chelsea. This appears to be a club that wants to dig itself out of a rut and press on to more success.
Contrast that to Newcastle who again, after seven more days are still no nearer appointing or re-appointing a manager. Turmoil at the top will undoubtedly filter to the team as shown by the frustrated tackle near the end of the Hull game last weekend which actually tantamounted to thuggery and should be suspended for more games than the stipulated.
Yes - this is a good time to play Newcastle - just as we all thought on Day 1 when it was anticipated that Sir Alex would beat a Newcastle side that had struggled in its pre-season friendlies. But King Kev surprised us all and had he still been in charge for tomorrow then a different outcome to my prediction would have surely happened and would have been a game I would leave alone.
Newcastle may even be a good bet for relegation at this time as, like last season, they seem intent on self destruction. A real shame for the massive support this club generates.
Selection West Ham United v. Newcastle United

Good luck Murt, I'll be on the same bet. My mate's a big Newcastle fan and he's absolutely distraught at the state of affairs there.
I've told him he's only got to wait till next wednesday for a nice tonic when we visit in the cup! _________________ @ KanKeano_OLBG | Twitter |
