Missed out on the opening weekend unfortunately but will be looking forward to next weekends set of fixtures. So at least I benefit from having a £200 fictitious bank.
I've already made my mind up on next weeks.
STOKE CITY V ASTON VILLA
Too much will be read into the respective results of either club. Aston Villa got a very impressive looking scoreline against a club in inner turmoil and this haul only served to hide their defensive frailties.
Stoke ran into a Bolton side that has spent heavily and looks pretty impressive on the whole. Elmander is a quality addition and helped put them to the sword.
What will be crucial to Stoke is home form, and as everyone has already written them off entirely I am going to stick up for them. They will battle until the very end and I for one am happy to stake my bank on the Potters to shock the whole of the nation and put an overrated Villa side to the sword.
£200 on Stoke City to beat Aston Villa at 5 (SkyBet)
Call me mad for now and abuse me if im wrong, as long as you are prepared to praise whenever I am right!!
Good luck all. |

Cheers both of you guys.
I just felt that it was the opening home game of the season, everyone has written Stoke off and the price was massive for me. Villa are a very decent side so it was in no way a dig at them, I just found that people read a little too much into a win over a Man City side that is going to struggle a little this year.
What I do like about Villa is the English element to their team. More teams should follow suit.
Betting bank = £1000
Will be £1100 of course next week.
And I will try and steer clear of the Villa just for you John |

wk 3 betting bank = 1100
SELECTION - Under 2.5 Goals Everton v Portsmouth @ 1.67 (Bet365)
STAKE - 200
Portsmouth always like to try and keep things tight away from home (we can forgive them for te Chelsea match) and this mark would usually produce a win. Everton have conceded four in their opening two games but I see this as being just a bit of rust in a side that has defensive capabilities. Not a massive of the price but it is a winning bet that matters, good value losers are no good to anyone!
Oops forgot to put the bookie in, ammended! |

wk4 opening balance = 1000
decision - Slovakia to beat Northern Ireland. Home advantage is huge for NI and they do not have it here. Slovakia are a pretty handy team on the whole and should have enough at their disposal to see off Nigel Worthington's men. N.ireland always fight but fighting is not enough, you need some quality at least.
Stake - 300
Price - 1.9 (Ladbrokes) |

Started to get a few doubts near to kick off listening to all the nonsense about how much of a battling team Northern Ireland are..
I'm happy with my start but getting a few wins is easy, it's the long term profit that is pretty difficult to maintain. |
