| what I have learnt is the need to accept losing runs |
Well there you are showing your greenness! I have not only compiled the figures for the bare system but have also collected information on the jockeys, the type of race, the trainers, the course and other details.
It is a big job and my time is not unlimited but I hope to post something that may go towards cutting back those losing runs.
Never, never accept losing runs as a fact of life. It is too early to say but I hope to do someething about those losers. Trouble is the danger of throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
However, i am very pleased that I have finally got through to you and you seem to realise that my intentions are good. Who knows? We may make a pro of you yet - despite yourself. Hopefully I can help you to avoid or reduce the losses that most of us sustain in the early days of backing horses. |

bettingted Don't you push your bloody luck! Cheeky beggar! eddiew is just growing up and beginning to see where his friends are. And also just beginning to learn about gambling. It isn't easy as you will find out when you start!
Food for thought?
Turf: 7 winnners from 45 runners for profit 9.50 (SR 15.56% ROI 21.11%)
AW: 2 winners from 8 runners for profit 119.00 (SR 25% ROI 1,487.50%)
NH: 3 winners from 15 runners for profit 2.50 (SR SR 20% ROI 16.67%)
Early days but where do you think you should look in the event that you are ready (which you should not be) to increase your stakes? |

This is based on week 1 - I wouldnt increase stakes yet - when does the new season of racing start? This might sound like a dumb question but all the same I don't know and maybe some other readers don't either, is it the beginning of the calendar year? I would look to increase my stakes providing this is profitable from the beginning of the new season |

Today's girls:
Cathy Gannon: 1 winner plus 5 placed from 13 runners - loss 1.00
Julie Burke: 1 winner plus 2 placed from 7 runners for loss 3.50
Miss Samantha Drake: i runner unplaced in Handicap Hurdle.
Miss Lucy Gardner: 2 runners both pulled up in Handicap Hurdles.
Rachael Green - nothing yet, but she has been around for a while and can ride. Chases 30% SR LSprofit 5.00, Hurdles 16% SR LSProfit 85.53, NHF 26% SR LSProfit 68.00 over the last 5 seasons. Many males would like to show her stats! Possible prime contributor to this system. |

Turf starts late March and runs to mid November.
NH starts in June and ends in June - in other words, the whole year round.
AW goes all year round although the jockeys' title ends late May, early June.
Other than Turf there is effectively no real start date, just an arbitary one to decide championships. |

Just checked on Betfair that our 100/1 winner Hold The Star (Ann Stokell 540pm Wolverhampton 7th June 2012) was as high as 320 in play and started at 261.90 and 22 for the place
No imagine if you had some cash on that, you be laughing
Well if this system works out then I would say stick to Betfair for the bigger prices |

| However, it was the fact that I kept seeing Rachael Green winning races against AP Mccoy that put the original thought for this posting in my mind. |

I take it that you were laughing when you posted this!
One swallow does not make a spring and 8 races most certainly does not make a system. I did state that you should not be ready to make a move yet. Too early, let's see some more results first.
The other two are in profit on the figures we have. No point in dropping winners!
Everything could change when I pick up on the next week results.
Meantime, what a shame that Rachael Green didn't get the chance to show us what she can do for our figures.
The girl who rode Breakoutthebooze in the last was disappointing. Brought the horse through the field to lead and go a couple of lengths up only for the horse they had passed to come back and pip them at the post. |
