Regardless of that from Harry, that can all be forgotten because of his classic "We need a goal and he takes off Defoe and puts on Heskey" line Very Happy

But a special mention has to go to Harry Redknapp. "I'm never speaking to the BBC ever again after what they did to me" (his minor appearance in Panorama). 12mths after finally begrudgingly recommencing post-match interviews for MOTD look whose the main man on the pundit panel and on the touchline with Gabby for Germany game. Ego & money or sticking to your principles. Hmmm

I think he just goes on there to wind the Pompey fans up Cheeky Laughing

I'm liking the worst commentator and worst pundit polls to be honest. Around 95% of fans seem to hate the same pundits yet they still get employed? At least they got shot of Barry Venison all those years ago!

The stations seem to have this need to employ ex footballers who were legends in the game as if that will make them good pundits or assuming they have a good knowledge of football. Most of the pundits sit and state the obvious and have no intelligent analysis whatsoever.

I am missing Sky Sports.

Whatever anyone says about Andy Gray he is the best pundit around (apart from maybe James Richardson, but he's more of a presenter - legend)

Someone mentioned Clarence Seedorf and I must admit he is the only pundit I have enjoyed on BBC or ITV this World Cup.

One final word on Gary McCallister, not on Sky too much but he's got a lot of potential. Would like to see him on more often.

I'm also enjoying the worst pundit and commentator polls as they are one of the thinks marring the World Cup for me. I went for Townsend out of the choices, but am surprised no-one has mentioned Shearer or Dixon. They are both so dull; I think I could predict what they will say about any match before it's started. Their praise over England beating Slovenia 1-0 was confusing, but even worse was them blaming John Terry playing at right centre-back instead of left as the reason England lost 4-1.

Like many pundits their hindsight is 20:20.

Hi Guys,

All I am hearing on the threads is moan moan moan. It's like sitting with a bunch of housewives in the intermission at the bingo.

UnderdogsLover, It would be a waste of time having a Best Pundit/Commentator thread because everyone who has posted on this would vote for themselves.

Donkey. No Crying or Very sad No

p.s. Guys if you think you can do better get your cv's in the post.

How could I forget David Pleat? Glad hes not commentating that Ive noticed, hes horrific. Combined with his inabilty to pronounce almost any name properly and its a good thing hes not on TV or Id be watching in silence.

Craig Burley is biased, condescending, and just really annoying. Comes across like he was the best of his generation as well, which is pretty comical.
