After Saturdays show, Jaz Ellingtons performance set a very high standard. I think he is the one to beat.

Be nice to see some betting on OLBG for The Voice Win

I like Becky and think Bo has a great voice. What I am not sure though on here is the voting format which can make all the difference.

On shows like the X Factor the bottom2 are left to the judges to decide and that makes for "rigging" in the respect they keep their own artist irrespective of whom was actually best.

Hopefully it's a straight public vote.

My view is that Jaz is a false favourite and I wouldn't want to back him at 4's or below at present. David J and Becky at double figures are my idea of value but this one has plenty of twists and turns coming.

LOL seriously guys if you dont understand how this works then you shouldnt be betting on it!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Voice_(TV_series)

The television audience vote to save one contestant on each team, leaving the coach to decide live who they want to save and who will not move on.

In the next round, the public chooses between the two artists left on each team, and the coach also has a vote that weighs equally with the public vote.

So
1. Each team loses contestants at the same rate until they have 1 left each
2. The public save one and the judges save the rest until each team has 2
3. When they have 2 left its coach + public vote*
4. The final will be one contestant from each coach
5. In the US version they had Facebook voting and counted iTunes downloads as votes too

* what seems to happen here is that the public gives 100 points spread across the 2 contestants for each judge (so its voting percentages) and the coach can also give 100 point split between their 2 remaining contestants

So if we say its A v B for Toms team:

Public vote 62% for A, 38% for B
Tom votes 40% A, 60% B
A has 102, B has 98 so A wins

See "Episode 10" in US show
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Voice_(U.S._season_1)

Tactically at this stage it looks like several judges go for 50:50 as they dont like to upset one of their team (especially if that one wins), so the public vote is usually more skewed than the judges.

However in theory (cant see anything in rules to stop this) the Judge could guarantee one contestant by giving them 100 and the other 0.

Anthony

I think if you read back I said I do not know how this will work, mainly as to be honest I don't care. Yes I said I liked Becky and Bo but nowhere did I say that with regards to having a bet.

So there was really no need for the comment about as we are all adults and yes all 100% clear that unless we knew the rules we would not be betting on it.

That said thanks for the out lining the rules for those interested in the format.

Hoping that David J and/or Becky perform well this weekend and put themselves in the running for the outright win.

I have been betting on the voice, but I am new to betting and quite worried. I have placed bets on a few contestants in this market, and was concerned on reading the betting rules below and wonder if they aplly to this kind of bet. Could someone please help me interpret this:

3. If, when placing a multiple bet online, your bet slip contains some related selections or markets, then only the unrelated multiples will be placed. This will be reflected in your stake. Returns may only be claimed on valid unrelated bets. If you are in doubt as to which of your selections are related, please contact our customer service team for a full explanation. Stakes can not be refunded on bets placed in error.
