| Surely the first thing you would do is ring Barry Hearn and tell him what had happened just to cover yourself. I know the NOTW does these things well but Higgins and his manager must be thick. |

A few things spring to mind, some already mentioned..
1) If he only met these people a few hours before, why on Earth is he comfortable discussing frame fixing, even if he feels threatened?
2) WHY did he "feel threatened"? Wasnt it a meeting about a tournament later in the year? Why would he feel threatened if the original meeting reason was all above board?
3) In regards to #2, if the meeting was all above board, why did he not end the conversation as soon as the subject of fixing arose?
4) Why did he jokingly ask if there were cameras there if he had nothing to hide?
5) Why did they not report it as soon as they got back in the country?
6) And this one is a big one - why did the NOTW decide to try and set Higgins up? They MUST have had previous knowledge of something, or been tipped off. I dont believe they'd go blindly off trying to trap Higgins with no previous info...
When the story first broke I ddnt want to believe it and was looking to try and find ways to explain the video away. However, now I cant. Theres too much thats unanswerable.
I hope he gets cleared as hes a great player and a legend, and no one wants to see him get tainted in this way - but I cant see any way he gets cleared of this.
Very, very disappointed in what looks to be true, as Higgins is one of the guys that Ive supported since I first got into snooker about 15 years ago, he was one of the guys that I used to follow closely back then and was a big part in me keeping an interest in snooker from the beginning. (Alan McManus was another, for the record, lol) _________________ Theo Walcott will score at least 20 in all competitions this season.

U should interview him bk, ud definitely get to the bottom of it!
Theres some more answers here...
http://www.sportingintelligence.com/2010/05/03/revealed-the-tal-behind-the-snooker-sting-that-leaves-higgins-in-the-fight-of-his-life-030501/
JH should come clean and just hold his hands up and say "look I made a mistake in some meaningless tournament and its just an odd frame here and there which I can make up later in the match if i want to" rather than trying to pretend his life was in danger. Theres no allegation about him actually being involved in throwing matches or having actually made money that way. Sting was set up cos somebody suspected summat.
Im sure we will hear much more in next weeks NOTW. Im expecting the other headline player in snooker to get a mention somewhere down the line.
I reckon frames are thrown a helluva lot more than people suspect. Matches perhaps less so and prob only players that dont make a good living from the game.
Two frames that may be investigated are versus McManus in the round robin stage of Grand Prix a few years back when Higgins lost and McManus achieved the score needed to get him thru. Also a Premier League match v Davis where they drew and Higgins made a few uncharacteristic misses. _________________ Positions are available in the OLBG Lottery syndicate. Thanks for that link Dammo. Id also expect the other headliner to be mentioned somewhen. 99% sure we're talking about the same guy.
I remember the Higgins/Davis 3-3 draw like it was yesterday, its one of those games you just dont forget. _________________ Theo Walcott will score at least 20 in all competitions this season.

this weeks installment...
http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/news/809149/How-John-Higgins-tried-to-bet-on-snooker-Championship.html
i cant believe he would have bet a grand to win summat like £7-8k when there was another £125k or wotever the difference is between winner and runner up. if he did do that, hes rather stupid! he should have used Betfair! _________________ Positions are available in the OLBG Lottery syndicate. No doubt more NOTW exclusive garbage, can't believe that people give this bunch of idiots so much credibility when there are so many inconsistencies in the videos of Higgins and Mooney.
They don't care about snooker or indeed about cricket so long as they get headlines and sales, when this is over they will move on to someone else leaving yet another sport in turmoil with very little real proof offered but hey so long as they make some quick money and get some shocking headlines for a few weeks it's all good right _________________ If a problem is fixable, if a situation is such that you can do something about it, then there is no need to worry. If it's not fixable, then there is no help in worrying. There is no benefit in worrying whatsoever. |

| Well said jimny, although i'd be very surprised if the cricket allegations turned out to be false. |
