I really fancied Stenson to have a decent Open considering his recent form ( Paddy Power have him at 80/1, 7 places) , but I notice a couple of bookies don't have him in their list. Having checked the list of acceptors, I see Stensons name is missing. Hope he gets a late invitation. |

| I was wandering the stats of players in form at jan,feb but nothing since, doing well at the open. Is it best to steer clear of these players? My thoughts are that an american will win the open because they have a great record in it. Lots to choose from. |

| Thanks jimmy. I remember royal st georges being incredibly bumpy. The year curtis won it. |

Nilsy
Hope you're not getting confused, it's Royal Lytham & St Annes not St Georges. Duval was the last to win here in 01, Lehman in 96 & Seve in 88 & 79.

| Not getting confused. Just giving an example of how royal st georges fairways are more undulating than st andrews. I dont know what the lytham course is like. As good as lee westwood is from tee to green, few bad bounces and its bogeys. |

I remember going to lytham in '96... really hot day (yes it was!!).. about 90 F
surprised how small the course was actually.. really seemed compact... lot of tricky narrow holes that wound their way through the dunes
not a typical links course like some but still has the usual problems - need to drive it well, thread your irons into the greens and be patient - tricky greens obviously too
presume it will play more easily than if the summer had been dry and hot but expect the usual top experienced players to be there on sunday although plenty of young stars that may make their mark...

BetVictor doing a tasty little offer....
Money back if Westwood, Poulter, Garcia or Donald win the Open!!!!
I have followed Westy religously this year and fancy his chances - and with Poults playing well, Garcia consistent and Donald a major player think this is quite the offer _________________ brewsty39 |

they did a preview of the course the other day on sky and off the fairway is long and will be a test to advance ball very far so need a straight hitter for one and already mentioned stacks of bunkers and railway line and houses on a few holes
will be a test although not long compared to few courses look like a typical open links course and will be a battle to get birdies etc |
