Forum Rules & Offences

Under 18 (10 points)

It is against the terms of the site for anyone under 18 to be a member.

1st Post Blatant Spamming (10 points)

Immediate ban for people who have clearly signedup and joined OLBG just to spam the forum

Anti OLBG behaviour (10 points)

Any action deemed damaging to the OLBG site or related sites that necessitates immediate removal of the offender

Libelous comment (7 points)

Defamatory posts about others stated as facts are not permitted on the forum as they could land us in legal trouble. If you dont understand libel law then we suggest you never publicly post an opinion about another person or organisation.

Rude / Offensive / Flaming to other members (5 points)

Please be courteous and respectful of other forum members and the people you are posting about. If you wouldnt ordinarily say it to someones face then you should not posting it.

Forum Manipulation (5 points)

Any tactics aimed at misleading other forum members such as setting up multiple accounts, working with others to mislead users or soliciting contact information from users

Bad Taste / Political / Racist / Religious postings (4 points)

No politics or religion please (including jokes) unless just about betting (next president, next pope). Please be wary of anything that may offend, bearing in mind the forum is frequentled by people from all over the world with different beliefs and humour. There is some relaxation of this rule in popular jokes threads like "Cure for Depression" where in the right context these are used in "good faith"

Advertising links without Permission (4 points)

As OLBG's features, services and prize money are 100% funded by advertising income we cannot allow free advertising on the forum or elsewhere on the site. If you have a site you would like to promote then please contact us first. See below for linking rules

Always Allowed

- one time links to sites that others might find useful either starting a thread if its really good or within a thread respoding to someones questions like "where can I get correct score stats"

- adding your own site in your forum profile so you get a WWW button

Need Permission

- to regualrly post a link to your site (or any site) in your signature or in your posts

Not Allowed

- advertising where maybe its your site or an affiliate link or any link that appears to be posted more in self interest than good faith

- links to offensive sites

Posting copyrighted content from other sites without permission (4 points)

If you copy some text from another site and post it on the forum can you prominently give them credit for it / post a link - its only fair, and I dont want to be accused of stealing content from other sites. Also do not copy an entire article, just excerpts with the link being to get more info.

Aggressive / Challenging / Not in a co-opertive spirit (3 points)

Please do not be aggressive to others or challenge them - we're all here to help each other so be nice! This includes repeated complaining about the same thing.

Excessive Boasting / Taunting about monetary wins (3 points)

While the odd celebration is fine please dont go over the top so that others feel bad and no posts about big bets or big wins

Bad / Vulgar language (3 points)

Please no swearing or modified swear words designed to bypass our filters

Messing the forum (3 points)

For excessive pollution of the forum such as starting unneccessary new threads, making lots of very low information posts, extra long lines without a space that mess the forum formatting, excessive use of punctuation, smileys, uncessary use of images etc

Irresponsible posting (3 points)

Posts that are likely to encourage novices to make poor decisions. For example phrases like "put your house on it", "risk free", "100% certainty" etc (unless clearly a joke)

0 Points Warning (0 points)

A warning carrying no points where the moderator feels the person needs to ensure they are familiar with the forum rules to prevent any further misunderstandings
