DORAS SISTER To Make It Count In Her Second Handicap
1:45 Nottingham
22/05 13:45
Was having he first race of the season at Pontefract when finishing second to Gabrial's Bounty, she could of been flattered to finish so close as she was getting a stone in weight from the winner. The ground was heavy that day and she had to try and make a challenge and she made headway over two furlongs out and kept on well to finish 1 1/4 lengths behind, even the winner was ridden out, looked in control when the line came.
Today the ground conditions of good will suit her a lot better than Pontefract's heavy ground.
Raced four times now and has yet to get her head in front.
More than likely she would of come on for her first run of the season and if adapting the same attitude she could be a worthy favourite of a reward.
John Quinn has her entered up, in three more races after this, at Haydock on the 24th and Musselburgh and Catterick on the 25th, he must be expecting his filly to run well here today and might not hold these other declarations, if she has had a hard race.
John Queally is in the saddle for the first time and hopefully he can put this filly in a good position to strike, from off the pace.

RAMONA CHASE To Chase And Pass The Front Runners Who Might Go To Hard
8:10 Windsor
21/05 20:10
Michael Attwater might have a found a good oppertunity for this seven year old to score on his 62nd run with only three wins to his name, this might be his fourth.
The strong pace, which could suit him, might be on here, with several front runners in the field, front runners, that like to go hard in front, which could cut each of the leaders throats.
RAMONA CHASE likes to be held up, this course could suit the front runners but when they are going hard up front, they could come back and Nicky Mackay could have his mount going forward when otherds have called it a day.
RAMONA CHASE has tried twelve furlongs five times without a win but has been close on one occassion, when finishing second. Most of his racing have been over 10 furlongs, seems to find trouble in some races and with a clear run could find himself in a challenging position.
Nice price to give a good account of himself.

CAPE OF APPROVAL Interesting Runner With Improvement To Come
5:35 Navan
20/05 17:35
Cape Of Approval could be the one to upset the favourite at a nice price and ran a fair race when finishing in sixth place behind Singing Bird and was beaten 7 1/2 lengths, with Qasser around five lengths in front.
The ground will be better for him today and the mile will also suit.
Tommy Stack has claimer S Gray in the saddle who is claiming seven pounds, which could be the turning point when going to the line, if in a challenging position.
10/1 with BET365 looks attractive price for an eachway shout.
Could be progressing along the right lines.

QASSER Showed Promise On Last Run
5:35 Navan
20/05 17:35
QASSER had a few these behind him finishing in 4th place when beaten 2 3/4 lengths by Singing Bird.
This was over seven furlongs on heavy ground, today he is tackling a mile and this could be ideal trip than the shorter and on better ground, improvement should be to the fore.
One that might prove a danger at a bigger price is the Tommy Stack trained Cape Of Approval who was staying on at the pace when these two met last time and he could be the achway value here.
Qasser could have enough reserves to see off all possible challengers come winning post and 5/2 with Bluesquare could be a good price for a favourite.
D P McDonogh has ridden him twice already and wil know when to ask his mount to go and do the business.
LICENCE TO TILL Not Having A Long Rest In His Box
4:10 Ripon
20/05 16:10
Mark Johnston is not allowing Licence To Till to stand around in his stable as he is out again after winning eight days ago at Haydock over ten furlongs on good to soft ground.
Joe Fanning was in the saddle and sent his mount to the front and stayed on well and drew clear of the remainder, this was a five runner affair and done it well, with 9-7 on his back giving the second Sugar Hiccup 10lbs and a 3 1/2 length beating.
Today Mark Johnston has S De Sousa in the saddle who is another good judge of pace from the front and can get his fractions right, from dictating the pace.
With this one coming out quickly Mark Johnston is triking while the iron is hot, trying to win two races on the trot like last year when winning at Dundalk and coming back to these shores and winning a big field handicap at York with today's rider.

LORD RYEFORD Relish The Drying Ground
3:20 Stratford
20/05 15:20
Has been kept off the course for over 211 days, possibly due to the ground not being to this 12 year olds liking.
Raced over fences 25 times and won six, placed six times as well. Not bad for amount of racing he has.
Likes good or fast ground.
Will also like the pace that could be on here, with several front runners and Tom George has a claimer riding who is taking a useful seven pounds off.
Has course and distance form to his name and when last here over 22 furlongs and won well by staying on strongly in the closing stages.
After running and winning at Bangor, connection thought of having a go in a Listed race at Newton Abbot and finished in seventh place, weakening after twelve flights, possibly the step up in class above him, today back in class three handicaps and getting weight could have a good chance of figuring.

VAINGLORY With Alice Haynes Claim To Bring Glory To The Simcock Yard
3:40 Ripon
20/05 15:40
3.40 RIPON has eight runners with Con Artist being a non runner.
Silvery Moon is favourite and I am not sure of the form of his last race with Memory Cloth as this one has run in better races after and not won, whether this one is running in better company to see how good he is, I am not sure.
So I am treating Silvery Moon with caution.
Once you seen a race and the form is progressive, I have a habit of sticking with it, the race form I am chatting about is the Newbury race when Captain Bertie won, as this form is really outstanding with winners of plenty coming from it. This brings VAINGLORY into the equation, another runner from the David Simcock yard. He is worse off at the weights with OSTEOPATHIC REMEDY by a couple of pounds, using the weight allowance of Alice Haynes and Michael Dods horse was 4 1/2 lengths behind this one at York, last year over the mile and DUBAI DYNAMO was also behind in that race.
Of the others DUNN'O and DONT CALL ME are coming from a yard that is struggling at present time to get a winner, POLAR KITE first run for over 260 days and is a course and distance winner, with Richard Fahey having two in the race this looks to be the second string, going on jockey bookings, his other HONEYMEAD was second last time out and seems suited by seven furlongs than a mile.
If DUNN'O does what he use to do for Clive Cox go out and make all, this could suit VAINGLORY to come from off the pace, and he seems to act for a claimer as Laura Pike won on him at York.

3:10 Ripon
20/05 15:10
Hallelujah looks to have a good chance of running a good race on first appearance of the season with Ryan Moore on board.
I was interested in the top weight PEARL BLUE as the soft ground is in her favour.
The main worry, about this one, is the weight, another that should be looked at is the bottom weighted three year old filly, BRICK TOPS, tried in the Fred Darling on her first race of the season and this was over seven furlongs and was down the field, she did win her maiden at Doncaster in good style, the form of this race has mixed results and the form of her Fred Darling race could be of interest, as of the few that was behind her, have stayed in good company and the step down in class for David Simcock and William Buick is in the saddle, she has another plus on her side, is the ground as she is by Danehill Dancer and her breeding could indicate soft ground could be suited.
David Simcock stable in fair form at present and could be worth siding with as 15/2 is only with BET365 asothers are smaller.

AAZIF Could Give Paul Hanangan A Good Run
5:40 Newmarket
19/05 17:40
Aazif comes from the John Dunlop yard and wears the colours of Hamdan Al Maktoum who retains Paul Hanagan to ride his runners and he has already rode one winner this afternoon for his owner and this one could be ready to deleiver in what looks a good handicap.
Had his first run here over 30 days agao and should of warrented that run and be ready to show more improvement here.
Being by Nayef, he will like the conditions and the distance of one mile four furlongs ideal.
Cecil won this race last year and has a runner in here but I beleive the Dunlop horse can be progressive.
SASH OF HONOUR Ready To Show Improvement After First Run
4:50 Newbury
19/05 16:50
SASH OF HONOUR trained by Sir Michael Stoute, with a run under his belt, would of brought him on bundles and the form of this race at Newmarket, 31 days ago, has some plus signs in the form book as the winner Model Pupil has raced and been beaten by the shortest of heads next time out, also several others from this race have confirm the race as worthy of interest.
This colt has no big race entries at present but possibly, if losing his maiden tag today he could progress onto better things.
Ryan Moore would be on board but he is on duty at Newmarket and Pat Dobbs is in the saddle and a capable jockey to fill the shoes of Ryan Moore.

NOBLE A MISSION Not Behind Him
2:15 Newmarket
19/05 14:15
NOBLE MISSION, Frankels Brother could start the afternoon off on the right foot for the Sir Hery Cecil yard, only five runners taking to post and could be a competitive one with many showing good form.
NOBLE MISSION has won two on the trot this season and could give the five pounds away and make a third.
When winning on this course 14 days ago he was settled in the early stages and stayed on well in the closing stages, could be useing this format again. Rugged Cross has to be respected on his first run of the season and John Gosden has his horses to the fore and THOUGHT WORTHY could give NOBLE MISSION plenty to think about.
Plenty of big race entries and I would think Sir Henry would not be to happy if this one gets turned over, possibly running a big race could indicate the way forward with Frankel laster on in the afternoon.

BERTIE WHITTLE AWAY AT THE FIELD
2:30 Newbury
19/05 14:30
Blown the cobwebs away with his first outing of the season at Newmarket 13 days ago. He finished in 15th of 24 runners, in what looked a competitive field won by Maarek who came from Ireland to reep the rewards.
T D Barron has Jimmy Fortune in the saddle and could be a very good jockey booking, as this is his first run on this four year old who has only won three races, two of those on turning tracks, Chester and Musselburgh and a win at Newmarket, which wipes out the doubts on him acting on a straight course.
Ground conditions look suitable. Hopefully he is coming here with condition having had the first outing to put him right.
Plenty of dangers in this field but one that I keep having second looks at is SOHRAAB but hopefully BERTIWHITTLE can do the business this afternoon.
Hold up tactics will be as normal, with Jimmy Fortune a strong jockey to get a horse home in a finish could have his mount in attacking position and staying on strongly at the finish.
