Given a rare awful ride by the usually reliable George Baker last time out. No surprise to see Harry Bentley back in the saddle today. Who gave this horse its best ride to date in its penultimate start winning very easily.

Ground will be more suited today than last time out as well. As long as Harry gets the horse into contention he should do the rest with his speed at the finish.

Down a stone in weight from lto, everything points to a good result.

As always Adrian Lewis never makes life easy for himself. All the talent in the world but very inconsistent.

Whitlock has already qualified for the play offs so the pressure is off Simon Whitlock. Which could be bad news for Lewis. But Lewis has a habit of turning up when it matters the most. I can see him battling it out and showing us why he's the world champion and sneaking a place in the play offs. Could even go down to leg difference tonight which may help Lewis.

This is probably the toughest match to call of the night. I just have a feeling Kevin Painter will sneak this one.

I think the shorter format is more suited to Painter where as Hamilton excels over a longer format like we saw in the World Championships.

Painter also has more experience in these big pressure games as he has been on the circuit a lot longer than Andy Hamilton. Hamilton has had a lot of double trouble in the league so far, where as Painter leads the table for 100 plus finishes! Even more than Phil Taylor. This will be a vital part of this arsenal in winning tonight

This could be a cracking match. Likely to be close but with Wades Premier League record for making the play offs I have to side with him again this season.

Barney has failed under the pressure on many occasions in the last two years and I expect that to happen again tonight. Wade is in better form than Barney who may have peaked too soon. Where as I always say in the latter stages of the PL Wadey comes on strong.

Taylor Far Too Good For Anderson

Surprised the prices isn't as low as 1.1 for this. Anderson has had a terrible year with problems on and off the oche. Taylor is still the best player to pick up the tungsten and has only lost once in the Premier League so far this season.

Anderson played better than he has done last week, signs of the old Flying Scotsman creeping through. But that is nothing in comparison to Taylor who nearly broke the world record for the highest 3 dart average in a tv match.

Gemologist To Take The Kentucky Derby

I watch a lot of US racing these days and most the time I forget all about the winners as nothing really catches the eye...but sometimes, just sometimes I am forced to remember them.

Gemologist really impressed me on last outing at Aqueduct showing real toughness and a different attitude to 99% of the US horses I had seen before in the States. Showed some class and timing, no surprise this horse is 5 wins from 5 in total and 2 wins from 2 at this course.

Up against a high calibre field today this is a true test of greatness. But my moneys firmly with Gemologist. Currently 8/1

Wade Hasn't Tested The Power In A Long Time

Not exactly a huge price but anything above 1.2 is value for Taylor. This is Wades time of the season but he hasn't even tested Taylor 2 or 3 years.

I don't think Wade has the right state of mind to step up to the challenge of Taylor. He turns up already thinking he's lost in my opinion. He will be counting on winning next weeks game and not this one. Taylor is virtually unbeatable right now, it took a masterclass from Adrian Lewis to give him his only defeat since February.

Oneiric Should Enjoy This Longer Trip

Oneiric really caught my eye last time out, he came flying home in the final furlong at Lingfield. The wire came too soon though and he had to settle for 2nd place.

Up in trip today to 2m back at Lingfield, this should be more than enough extra track to get himself a strong lead at the business end. The right timing will be needed for sure, we don't want him to burn out too soon. But looks an improver and one I'll be backing today

Taylor has looked invincible in the league so far and showing no signs of faltering. Andy Hamilton when focussed is very hard to get by and at his absoulute best he could give Taylor a good game. With the tough week he has been through I think we could see a more focussed and determined Hamilton than we ever have before. He needs to get in the zone and keep hammering those trebles and get off to a good start.

The Flying Scotsman was not with us last week due to the loss of his father. I think there would be nothing better than to return with a win...

Whitlock will have other ideas of course having been whitewashed last week by James Wade. But at the same time I think the crowd could really get behind Gary tonight knowing the tough few weeks he's had. We are all glad to see him back playing.

I think we'll see some top form from Anderson and a real display of passion and emotion.
