  • NHL: The Ducks had everyone fooled

Epic on 08 Feb at 15:22

One of the main storylines during the opening half of the NHL regular season was the slow start of many Stanley Cup favorites. The Anaheim Ducks were one of slumping teams. After three consecutive division titles, Bruce Boudreau's team started the new season by winning only one of their opening ten matches. It got better after that, but there were many calling for the management to blow up the side and rebuild. But in the end, it seems like the Ducks had everyone fooled. They have been the hottest side in the league after the Christmas break and it doesn't look like they will cool down. The Ducks clearly had problems at the start of the season as they couldn't score. They were amazingly shutout in half of the first ten games. Complacency could've been the reason for that. The team…

  • Euro 2016 - Group D preview and betting tips - Spain easy winners? Not so fast...

    ibfm23 on 07 Feb at 06:09

Group D is one of the toughest to predict or find any value ante-post bets. Spain, Croatia, Czech Republic and Turkey; one top nation and three mid-tier nations means that the second qualification spot, assuming Spain do not disappoint, will be a heated affair. What about Spain though? Are they as strong as the odds - 1.67 to win the group - suggest? They went through with 9 wins and 1 defeat but with key players of the historical ‘Triplette’ ageing and retiring, there is doubt whether the new blood can perform with the same level of efficiency during the final stages of a competition considering the disappointing Brazil 2014 group stage elimination. Let’s look at the opposition first. Croatia went through a very difficult group which included Italy, Norway and Bulgaria, in second place and gave the Italians a tough…

  • Are eGamers About To Take Over Football?

LustForLeith on 11 Feb at 21:22

Are eGamers About To Take Over Football?   When it comes to football, my son is something of a late developer in both playing it and being interested in the sport. This is because A) I’m terrible at the game and I’m worried that I’ll pass it onto him through our genes and B) Because I support Hibs and nothing can prepare you for the disappointment that usual follows following the team.   But he started playing the game through his school after the summer holidays and quite enjoys it. He’s even had the good fortune of going to a Hibs game too!   For Christmas he got his first ever copy of FIFA, the computer game phenomenon, and he’s hooked. It’s actually acting as an educational tool and giving him a crash course in the game and it’s rules. When to dive into a tackle,…

  • Exact Goal Betting System - Week 2

danbradley on 08 Feb at 22:41

Last week I came up with an idea for a system involving a goals market which the bookies don't seem to have taken seriously yet, but for which the stats suggest there should as much variation in prices as the more commonly used over/under 2.5 goals which gets plenty of attention from punters and bookmakers alike. This system uses exact goals. However, rather than going one way or another, over or under, I'm looking at sides who regularly have 2/3 goals in a game and sides that regularly either have very low-scoring or very high-scoring games. We can back there to be exactly 2/3 goals in a game at 2.05 in pretty much every Premier League game, while laying at that price usually gives us effective odds after fees of about 1.85. With these odds staying the same in every game,…

  • JCB Triumph Hurdle Key Race Trends - 18 March 2016

Robmull on 08 Feb at 16:32

The JCB Triumph Hurdle is a Grade 1 Juvenile Hurdle which is run over 2 miles and 179 Yards at Cheltenham on Friday, 17 March 2016. The race is considered to be the most prestigious 2 mile hurdle race of the season for 4 year old hurdlers and always presents an interesting puzzle for punters to assess, with an average field size of 17 runners taking part during the past decade. During this period, 2 favourites have been successful for a level stakes loss of 2.50 pts, whilst a further 6 winners were sent off at single figure odds with the exceptions starting at odds of 10/1 and 33/1 which suggests that this is not a particularly good race for relatively unfancied runners. It is also worth noting that GB trained runners have recorded 8 wins during the…

Designed by Jack Nicklaus and his son, the Talon Course at TwinEagles Golf Club measures 7,193 yards and will host the tournament for the tenth time. The Par 72 layout has all the Nicklaus features you would expect with tricky approach play and strategically placed bunkers making it very much a track that requires course management.
