tbuckley on 19 Jul at 22:49

Betting Approach - Premier League 2016/17 Ante-Post Football markets Preview Football betting has developed and progressed massively over the last 10 years, especially the last 5, with punters having a seemingly ever increasing array of betting options to choose from. In the series of 'Betting Approach' blogs I've written so far, I've looked how betting has changed, what mistakes are made, what we've learned as punters and also discussed what betting options football punters now have. Without doubt one of the biggest choices of betting options football punters now have is the incredible, mind boggling range of Ante-post markets to take in, there are literally hundreds of different Ante-post markets offered up by the various bookmakers. Now I absolutely love getting stuck into the Ante-post markets in the weeks leading up to a new season, I love the challenge of searching through all…

  • Matchbook Betting Exchange Stakes at Goodwood Key Race Trends - 26 July 2016

Robmull on 24 Jul at 15:52

The Matchbook Betting Exchange Stakes is a Class 2 Handicap for runners aged 4 years and older, which is run over 1 mile, 1 furlong and 192 yards at Goodwood on Tuesday, 26 July 2016 and is the traditional curtain raiser for the 5 day Glorious Goodwood Festival. With an average field size of just over 16 runners during the past decade, the Matchbook Betting Exchange Stakes often provides an fiendishly difficult puzzle for punters to assess, especially as the draw can often have a major impact on the outcome of the race. During the past decade only 1 market leader (8/1 joint favourite) has obliged for a Loss of 5.50 points, whilst a further 2 of the remaining 9 winners were sent off at single figure odds (both 8/1), with the exceptions starting at odds of 10/1, 12/1, 14/1…

  • Trainers to follow in August

Scratville on 24 Jul at 13:34

Off on my Holiday so the Blogs up early. April, May and June have all been profitable months and July at the time of Writing is +£87.50 LSP. We are currently +180.89 LSP for the year which has surpassed my expectations! Last August was the most successful month I have ever had with £126.78 LSP. It's going to be the busiest month I have had with 24 trainers and well over 500 runners. As the blog has progressed I'm getting better results by having more trainers, obviously the stats have to be good but because of BOG I'm finding increasing the Trainers is reducing the variance and producing much better results. GB FLAT TURF JOHN GOSDEN (ALL) A blog regular who returns from last August where he gave us +£22.07 LSP. 2011 7/66 …

  • Rogers Cup 2016 Preview

undertherobe on 24 Jul at 22:06

With the Olympics less than two weeks away, the upcoming Masters Event in Canada certainly doesn’t have the overall feel of an event just one level below the Grand Slams with the absence of Andy Murray, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. The Rogers Cup is a combined event for men and women, with the venue alternating between Toronto and Montreal. In 2016, the women are in Montreal whilst the men play in Toronto. 2016 Masters Series so far Indian Wells: Novak Djokovic def. Milos Raonic 6-2, 6-0 Miami: Novak Djokovic def. Kei Nishikori 6-3, 6-3 Monte Carlo: Rafael Nadal def. Gael Monfils 7-5, 5-7, 6-0 Madrid: Novak Djokovic def. Andy Murray 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 Rome: Andy Murray def. Novak Djokovic 6-3, 6-3 History Andy Murray won his third Rogers Cup in 2015, defeating Novak Djokovic in the final and he became the fourth different winner in the last…

  • Connacht Hotel Handicap at Galway Key Race Trends - 25 July 2016

Robmull on 24 Jul at 16:45

The Connacht Hotel (QR) Handicap is an extremely valuable race for runners aged 4 years and older which is run over 2 miles at Galway on Monday, 25 July 2016. With an average field size of just under 20 runners during the past decade, the Connacht Hotel Handicap often provides a fiendishly difficult puzzle for punters to assess, as the race is restricted to amateur jockeys riding horses that are often better known for their exploits over hurdles and fences rather than running in valuable flat handicaps. During the past decade only 1 market leader has obliged for a Loss of 5.00 points, whilst just 2 of the remaining 9 winners were sent off at single figure odds, with the exceptions starting at odds ranging from 10/1 to 16/1, which suggests that punters often need to look beyond the…

  • Glorious Goodwood - a look at the Betfred Mile and Qatar Stewards Cup

The Market Man on 24 Jul at 20:14

Glorious Goodwood - a look at the Betfred Mile and Qatar Stewards Cup This is indisputably one of my favourite weeks of the year - Goodwood and Galway provide us with great racing from both flat and jumps, each course with it's own idiosyncrasies and trainers who take advantage of them. I've written a separate blog for Galway so we can concentrate here on the action on the Sussex Downs... The Betfred Mile : Class 2 handicap Known as the Golden Mile to most. A right hand turn halfway through the race means the draw can be influential when making a selection. The last three years, the first three home started from the first ten stalls. In 2012 it was the first two home. Experience of Goodwood or Epsom, another undulating track with a downhill straight which tests the balance of horses…
