The Southampton Perspective: Saints Visit Hull City

The Southampton Perspective: Saints Visit Hull Another week, and another two wins for the Saints after Ronald Koeman’s men made it back to back victories over Stoke by beating them in the League Cup on Wednesday after managing a 1-0 win at the weekend. It seems to just keep getting better and better for the Saints as their amazing run of wins in all competitions lengthened to 9 wins from 10 games. Hull are next on the list for the Saints, and based on the current form of the two sides there is no reason for Southampton to be fearing the Tigers It is worth remembering that the Saints have had a relatively kind start to the season from the fixture list generators, and though they now face Hull, Leicester and Villa - three very beatable teams on recent evidence -..
NFL EXPERTS PICKS - Week 9 NFL Picks!
by Chipmonkadidooda on 30 Oct at 22:31
NFL EXPERT PICKS WEEK 9 I'm afraid it's a quick up and out this week. Let's call it a no huddle offence in terms of the blog this week. Precious little time and plenty to do sadly. Time is of the essence and I have no time to give a good deconstruction of last week, suffice to say the experts maintained the good performances and were a whisker away from back to back accumulator victories. Yes those darn Cowboys let us down, but the savvy amongst you would have traded out before the Monday night game for guaranteed winnings. Without further ado then onto the picks for this week. Back to speed next weekend! Enjoy your NFL weekend! Thursday Night Game NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (3-4) @ CAROLINA PANTHERS (3-4-1) CURRENT MONEYLINE ODDS: 1.58/2.50 (HANDICAP -3 SAINTS) CONSENSUS: 5-2 PANTHERS CHIPMONKADIDOODA: Saints outscoring opponents by more than..
A Blue Point of View

Manchester City v Manchester United, Sunday 2nd November (13:30) Preview Firstly welcome to my blog and my preview on Premier League matches involving my club Manchester City. This week I'll be writing about our 10th Premier League match this season and it's the 1st Manchester derby of the season. Drama, Drama and more Drama is what this fixture has consistently provided for the neutral. For City fans it's generally provided a horribly tense build up with a week full of thoughts of "what if we lose" or "what if we win". This match is the biggest of the season, the one that we simply have to win and it consumes your thoughts the week before and the week after it's finished. Fergie time winners by Rooney, Scholes, Owen & Van Persie. Fluke overhead shins..
PREMIERSHIP STATISTICS from some different angles.
by davidg3907 on 30 Oct at 23:27
PREMIERSHIP STATISTICS from some different angles. At the commencement of the season I decided to look at some stats from slightly different angles, searching for a profitable trend slightly off the beaten track. The stats will be generic rather than team specific initially but may be segregated later in the season once more data has been collected. Apologies for the formatting, that is best described as "work in progress". BACKGROUND TO THE STATISTICS During the early part of the campaign a few unexpected results will inevitably occur. Some of those may turn out not to be shocks as the season progresses and form settles. However, a few things did come as a surprise. The first, and this can only be a statistical blip or coincidence, was that in all seven matches on the first day of the season the away team scored the first..
Gameweek 10 - Newcastle vs Liverpool
by ibfm23 on 31 Oct at 05:35
The November schedule opens with 3 key matches over an eight day period. Liverpool first travel to Newcastle and Madrid and then host league leaders Chelsea. Eight days of hell? Or possibly eight days of redemption? All be it being the League Cup, the midweek reaction against Swansea was somewhat encouraging, as was Balotelli’s much awaited goal. The Reds make the trip up to the north east on the back of a 4-match unbeaten run in the league. This notwithstanding there is still a general lack of confidence around the club. This run did not comprise any of the top 4 teams, the Reds only won 1 of 3 home matches and the 2 wins which came against the modest West Brom and QPR were too much of a close call to consider satisfactory. On the other hand the Magpies appear..
Newcastle v Liverpool
by Micko70 on 29 Oct at 17:56
Newcastle United finally look like they have turned the corner after their surprising win at Tottenham, despite looking woeful in the first half Liverpool were held at home 0-0 by Hull City and many people thought Hull should actually have picked up the points. Both sides are leaking goals too, Newcastle have scored 6 and conceded 7 at home, whilst Liverpool have scored 8 and conceded 8 on the road. PREVIOUS MEETINGS Liverpool picked up 4 points from the 2 games last season, a 2-1 win at Anfield after a 2-2 draw at St James Park. Newcastle scored first in both games and also had players sent off in both games too. The last 10 results at St James Park are as follows - 19-10-13 - Newcastle 2 Liverpool 2 27-04-13 - Newcastle 0 Liverpool 6 01-04-12 - Newcastle 2 Liverpool 0 11-12-10 - Newcastle 3 Liverpool 1 28-12-08 -..
Breeders Cup Races - Day One , Friday 31/10/14
by The Executioner on 29 Oct at 17:16
The Breeders Cup is often referred to as the World Championships of horseracing , it's just quality through and through with a mixture of turf and dirt racing. The best of America welcomes the best from around the world over a variety of distances and despite the difficulties in trying to find a winner or two it doesn't stop us as punters doing our best to put one over on the bookmakers. Once again as expected it looks a hugely competitive two days of action with the highlight of the meeting being the Breeders Cup Classic , which by tradition is the final race run on Saturday. Friday's action sees four races , in some way acting as a starter before the main course of nine Breeders Cup races on Saturday. : *** Please note numbers 15 & 16 in the..
