Football Betting - Using Statistics
by arniehi on 23 Jan at 12:44
Much tends to be made about the value of statistics in betting - how feasible it is to place bets solely based on statistical analysis; strike rates and LSPs when it comes to systematic betting; and in my mind most importantly, which statistics are actually relevant. In a time where we now seem to be inundated with various football statistics - be it through commentary during a game, punditry after a game, or social media feeds and websites of stat compilers, it's fairly easy to get caught in a mindset whereby statistics may be the only thing that matter when it comes to placing your bets. Having trialled a few different statistic models to help my football betting in particular, and someone who will almost always find reasoning in statistics when placing my bets (often times to either back up my..
SUPERBOWL XLIX - Your Ultimate Analysis & Betting Preview
by Chipmonkadidooda on 26 Jan at 22:00
SUPERBOWL XLIX YOUR ULTIMATE GUIDE TO THE GREATEST GAME ON TURF And so it begins here then at the end as it were. A full season behind us: 17 regular season weeks and 3 weeks of play-off football with the annual round of highs and lows for those who willingly sign up to this most nail-biting of sports and now just one game remains in the world of the NFL. Fitting really that the two No1 seeded teams from both the NFC and the AFC will come together on a field in the middle of the desert to contest the 49th Superbowl (to those of you familiar with the OFL forum, can I just point out that I have to physically stop myself from writing SUPERBOLBG every time I write the word Superbowl as I have become so conditioned to write it!!!..
Mitchell v Estrada - Saturday - Sky Sports
by FrankieMonkhouse on 26 Jan at 16:24
We extend a very warm welcome to the return of big-time British boxing to our screens this weekend as Matchroom Sports kick-start 2015 with their star-studded show at London’s 02 Arena on Saturday night with the Sky Sports cameras in attendance. Kevin Mitchell’s bid for the vacant WBC Silver lightweight title headlines a fantastic bill on Saturday but there’s little value about so we’re polishing off a couple of the undercard gems that look to be priced in our favour. First up Tommy Martin should get the better of Ricky Boylan in their English light-welterweight tussle. Undefeated Martin is an improving fighter and being a former gym-mate of mine in East London I can tell you he has what it takes to succeed at this level. Regular readers of my column will remember we had an incredible win when opposing Boylan last..

Asian Handicap Betting - When I think the AH Comes Into Its Own.
by garethp1981 on 26 Jan at 19:47
This is the (belated) third part of my series on Asian Handicap betting, in the first part I explained what AH betting is, and in the second I pointed out why I think that AH betting offers better value than standard 1X2 betting. In this blog I am going to explain the type of game where I find AH betting can be especially good. Many people who bet on football will probably know the type of game I mean, there is a favourite for the game but you don’t think that they will win, or at least you think there is no value in the price. You quite fancy betting on the other side, who are reasonably well priced, but then the draw would be a big worry to you. At the time of writing (I started to write this..
SUPER LEAGUE 2015 - A WHOLE NEW BALLGAME
by wildbillsghost on 25 Jan at 20:45
SUPER LEAGUE 2015 - A WHOLE NEW BALLGAME It hardly feels like any time at all since St Helens were running around Old Trafford holding aloft the Super League Grand Final trophy, off the back of ‘The Punch’ and a 14-6 beating of their fierce rivals, but in just a couple of weeks the new season will be upon us and it promises to be something special. As suggested by the header this is a season with plenty of changes from the last campaign. Gone are former powerhouse Bradford Bulls as well as, not quite so great, London Broncos. Both were relegated under the new rules which sees both Super League and the Championship lining up with twelve teams each and a brand new format that will see not only promotion and relegation but a whole new Super League play-off system. Under the..

As i write this there are still 16 games to go and still 48 points to play but realistically only the top 8 (Chelsea, Man City, Southampton, Man Utd, Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham & Liverpool) have enough points to come themselves out of the relegation scrap. Liverpool are currently in 8th place on 35 points and will grab themselves enough points to stay up with still 16 games to go. Swansea are currently sitting in 9th place on 30 points and looking at their fixtures, you would fancy them to get at least 10-12 points which should see them safe but in all honesty, you just never know. The bottom 12 sides are their current point totals with matches played home and away are as follows - POS TEAM PL W D L GF GA PTS 09 Swansea 22 8 6 8 26 30 30 10 Stoke 22 8 5 9 23 27 29 11 Newcastle 22 7 6 9 26 35 27 12 Everton 22 5 8 9 30 34 23 13 C Palace 22 5 8 9 25 33 23 14 West Brom 22 5 7 10 20 29 22 15 Aston Villa 22 5 7 10 11 25 22 16 Sunderland 22 3 11 8 19 33 20 17 Burnley 22 4 8 10 21 36 20 18 Hull 22 4 7 11 20 30 19 19 QPR 22 5 4 13 23 39 19 20 Leicester 22 4 5 13 20 34 17 PREVIOUS MEETINGS Let's look at how each of those 12 teams has got on..
