  • NBA Record-breaking streaks - Golden State Warriors (Nov 2015)

    botev1921 on 23 Nov at 14:43

It has been only a month into the NBA season and the blockbuster stories keep coming one after another. Certain developments have been expected, others not so much, but the consensus around the league and on most fan message boards is that the current developments are already building one if not the most exciting basketball season in history. Two record-breaking streaks are still active as we get close to the end of November and I decided to dedicate a pair of articles to them, put them into betting context and hopefully add a bit more enjoyment to the already nerve-wracking first month of the season. If you haven’t followed closely, the Golden State Warriors, who are defending champions, opened with a 15-0 record, while Philadelphia 76ers, who are defending “worst team” in the league are now 0-14. How long will…

  • I've Never Seen Such A Thing?! Talked Into Account Being Closed??

    Gibbard2002 on 24 Nov at 16:43

Bookies Are Getting Ridiculous Now Aren't They?! Now I'm just your average 26 year old guy who likes a bet. I have two twin daughters who obviously come first, but I like to dabble on a bet or 2 with my spare money once the family is sorted. I'm no dodgy punter by all means yet I'm getting account after account closed. I've worked in this industry and I know the bookies are a big hater of 'arbing' so if they think you are an arber then your account will be limited / closed. I've had this happen a couple of times, but the argument is (there is no argument really, bookies always win) why would I take 8/11 on a selection at bookie A when bookie B is even money? They 'assume' I am arbing so instantly limit my account. Now…

  • Alfred Dunhill Championship - South Africa

    Ralfie1982 on 23 Nov at 20:20

It was another good weekend for us on the blog, we saw Andy Sullivan at 80/1 just get pipped into place money (which was still a nice return but could have been a monster). We also got another winner, Kevin Kisner at the RSM won by 6 shots at 20/1 and should never have been at that price. So well done if you got on. With the European and Challenge Tour now on their winter end of season break, I expect to see a couple of the key players appear on other events such as this and the US Tour. We have on face value a very competitive field here, with some of the top players from The Challenge Tour competing who will I am sure give some of these a run for their money. The Courses & Stats $1.5m Prize…

  • In Form Trainers - 23 to 29 November 2015 - Fully Updated For The Weekend

Robmull on 22 Nov at 14:28

The purpose of this blog is to highlight trainers in Britain that are currently in good form based on a minimum of 5 winners at a strike rate of 20% or more and have recorded a level stake profit across all of their runners during the last 14 days up to the close of racing on Saturday. In addition, I will endeavour to list where these trainers have horses entered at racecourses over the forthcoming week where the trainer has been profitable to follow since the start of 2011 and will also highlight any jockeys that have been profitable to follow when teaming up with our in form trainers, during 2015. There is an old saying that states that success breeds further success and whilst most training stables come in and out of form during the year, it often pays…

  • Saturday Racing Preview - 28 November 2015

Robmull on 25 Nov at 15:10

Saturday is usually the busiest day of the week in terms of race meetings, attendance at race meetings swelled by occasional racegoers enjoying a good day out and betting turnover, as once a week punters try to find the winners of the races that they are able to watch on terrestrial TV. In general, the races that are usually covered by Channel 4 on Saturday are often the most valuable and competitive events of the week and as such are the most complex to analyse. In addition, many Saturday punters that I know struggle to find sufficient time to fully analyse all of the data that is available in the media, prior to making their selections, as they find they are under time restraints due to competing home and/or work commitments. Speaking from personal experience, I have lost count of…

  • Basketball betting - First Basket/Winner market strategy

    botev1921 on 26 Nov at 01:48

My coverage of basketball betting with specific emphasis on the NBA continues as more and more people here at OLBG seem to be getting into the sport and are eager to know more about the various markets available out there. While my basic analysis from earlier this month included short introduction to the basics, explanation of the value selling and buying, in this article of mine I will try to go deeper into a market that has been widely available around the US, but has only just been introduced to the European punters, namely the first basket/winner combo, which is on offer by PADDYPOWER. As the market has proven extremely popular, I am certain more bookies will look at it closely and while they do that, it is wise to examine what it is all about and how we can…

  • Outrights Review - Serie A Winners betting tips

    ibfm23 on 25 Nov at 05:17

2015 has been a good but very busy year for me. Work pressures and a toddler in the house have taken over which meant less time for football and betting. I have been slowly (and painfully) training my body to require less sleep so hopefully you'll be seeing more of me in the near future. The Liverpool blog registered a 7% loss to date. The Reds are as unpredictable as an earthquake and the losses could have been higher had in not been for some 'hedge' bets; vide the 0-0 correct score tip against Spurs - http://www.olbg.com/blogs/post.php?id=409902. I expect blog performance to improve as we move ahead so stick in please :). With a third of the season gone, it's a good time to review the early season outright bets. Serie A Winner Original - http://www.olbg.com/blogs/post.php?id=409308 Amendments - http://www.olbg.com/blogs/post.php?id=409646 My original tip, Inter…
