2016 Oscar Preview I know, I know, it’s too early to look at the Oscars. How can you tell how a film may do in the Academy Awards when you haven’t seen it or it’s competition? Well, there's no harm in trying! Could be quite an interesting year. There’s already some early favourites, so hotly tipped moves that have failed to deliver and the possibility of some surprises. Here’s things to consider - The last three Best Picture winners have been released in October in America That bodes well for the likes of The Walk, Legend, The Martian, Adam Jones, Freeheld, Steve Jobs. And The Last Witch Hunter. The likes of Boyhood and Grand Budapest Hotel could have done better if they had been released later in the year. But don’t rule out films that have been around for ages - Last year Whiplash dazzled..
