A league table that could be over looked due to its status
by meoldmate on 23 Mar at 21:16
SPFL League Two Here is one league that, many members from South of the border would not really register with, unless the games are of interest when selecting on a football coupon. There are four teams heading for promotion from this league, three with a view of a play off and one Champion. The four teams teams that could be considered for the title are as follows. Stranraer Morton Forfar Brechin I suppose some membres would be of the thinking, who would be interested in this league and these teams. Possibly Scottish folk, who live in other parts of the British Isles and abroad and football fans, who take teams like these four and possibly others under their wing, just for interest. When I was a boy, I was fascinated with Stenhousemuir, possibly by the name and nothing else, as I could not tell you anything about them, I..
Rosebery Handicap Trends
by Micko70 on 26 Mar at 17:22
The Rosebery handicap is usually run at Kempton Park on the same day is the Lincoln is being run at Doncaster. The race is run over 1m 3 furlongs and has been run on the All Weather Track since 2006, meaning the last race i have looked at in 2005 was run on the old turf course. I have looked at the last 10 runnings of the race and looked at 8 trends in total, those trends are Age, Weight, Official Rating, Last Time Out, Last Run, Distance, Course Form & Draw Any horse passing a 10 will score 5 points, a 9 will score 4 points, an 8 will score 3 points, 7 will score 2 points and any horse passing a trend with 6 scores 1 point. The final 48 hour decs are as follows - 6-2693 Fire Fighting(16) 4 9-10 Mark..
What I Have Learned From Cheltenham
by garethp1981 on 22 Mar at 20:46
The end of the festival is now over a week ago and I thought it would be good to record on this blog what I think can be learned from the greatest show on turf. I was lucky enough to be able to go to the first day, so my view are perhaps coloured a bit by this, but I did think there were things to be learned from each of the four days. Douvan Is One To Look Out For Much of the talk before day one was about a Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh winning the four Grade One Races on the Tuesday. To do this Ruby needed to start the festival by winning on Douvan and it was to the delight of a very noisy Cheltenham crowd that he did so. I personally thought that Douvan was the..
Dutch football - knowing the league, knowing your bets
by botev1921 on 25 Mar at 12:05
I have been watching Dutch club football for as long as I can remember and one of the reasons probably is that I grew up when the Dutch national team was one of the best in Europe in the early 90s and their approach to football with the new modern academies, was always admired by media and specialists alike. I confess that I enjoy Dutch matches more than even English or Spanish ones and as I grew up more aware of different betting markets, I realised enjoyment actually has a lot to do with the entire philosophy of Dutch teams and that philosophy is incredibly helpful to punters looking for easy money. In this short blog I will bring to your attention my observations on that Dutch philosophy and how it translates into stats, which in the end make one..

PREMIERSHIP STATISTICS from some different angles - March update.
by davidg3907 on 27 Mar at 14:26
At the commencement of the season I decided to look at some stats from slightly different angles, searching for a profitable trend slightly off the beaten track. The stats will be generic rather than team specific initially but may be segregated later in the season once more data has been collected. At the end of the season some will also be split into Home and Away format. BACKGROUND TO THE STATISTICS During the early part of the campaign a few unexpected results will ( and indeed did ) inevitably occur. Some of those may turn out not to be shocks as the season progresses and form settles but they need to stay in the statistics. However, a few things did come as a surprise. Let’s look at the stats and see what has developed as we are now 3/4 of the way..
ATP Masters 1000 Miami
by undertherobe on 23 Mar at 20:50
Last week in Indian Wells saw it go to the form book with Novak Djokovic outlasting Roger Federer in the final to extend his lead at the top of the world rankings. Once again, we have an ATP 1000 event over the next week and a half, and this time we cross the United States onto the East Coast to take a look at the Miami Open which is the last hard court event on American soil until the ATP 250 in Atlanta at the end of July. History Between 1990 & 2004, this event was dominated by Americans with home players taking home 12 of the 15 tournaments played. Andre Agassi, Jim Courier, Michael Chang, Pete Sampras and Andy Roddick all winning at least one event. Since that period of American dominance, only Andy Roddick in 2010 kept the trophy in..
