Liverpool v Arsenal - Goals Over 2/1
by nors on 17 Dec at 14:50
Last season this match saw a rout by Liverpool 5-1 as Arsenal were blown away by the speed and intensity of Brendan Rodgers title chasers. Prior to this Arsenal had an OK record at Anfield having avoided defeat in their last 5 meetings. In 2014/15 we have a different Liverpool to take on, they have had a terrible run of results and unless they turn it around quickly then any hope of a top 4 finish will disappear. However wounded animals are dangerous and in Liverpool we have such an animal. So we have a home team that need to win but who are lacking in confidence and good recent results. Liverpool also have goalkeeper issues having dropped Mignolet for the reserve keeper Brad Jones. Jones to me does not have the presence of a Premiership keeper and this lack..
Gameweek 17 - Liverpool vs Arsenal
by ibfm23 on 18 Dec at 07:02
One of the worse results of the season turned up to be the best gameweek for the blog. Rooney and Van Persie were both on target and as expected Manchester United were easy victors. Ironically though, for the first time since the Tottenham match in gameweek 2, I was intrigued by the Reds. Intrigued by what appeared to be a sign of life. Intrigued by Sterling who ran ragged the United defense all afternoon. Intrigued by the returning Balotelli who arguably had his best Liverpool game only to be denied by MOM De Gea. The Spanish keeper was forced into 9 saves most of which were one on one situations. I followed the match with my fellow OLBGers through the forum and whilst I was initially annoyed that Rodgers opted for a false 9 approach, I quickly swallowed back my words..
WHAT HAVE THE ROMANS EVER DONE FOR US ??
by pompeybuster12 on 16 Dec at 20:31
WHAT HAVE THE ROMANS EVER DONE FOR US ?? “All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?” REG OF THE PEOPLES FRONT OF JUDEA. (THE LIFE OF BRIAN) FINEFORM, ONLY ON A WEDNESDAY. I want to spin a yarn on systems; primarily I want to put them in perspective. The basic premise of a system is back fitting results into a neatly arranged pattern that shows profit, the premise being that what has passed before will play out in the future. Inevitably the system starts to fail, so the Reg moment from the life of Brian plays out. The system maker needs to start back fitting again to stay in profit so the game begins………….. Hmmm if we back the top rated system picks..
College Football - Bowl Season Part One
by undertherobe on 17 Dec at 23:26
So we’re all done with another College Football regular season and despite the move to a four team playoff deciding by a committee rather than a computer, the final rankings were not without controversy as TCU were dropped from no.3 to no.6 to miss out on the playoffs altogether. As for the results from this blog, since Week Eight it’s been a winning week in all but one week as I’ve gone 15-8 over that span. Including the National Championship game, there are 39 Bowl games this year so plenty of opportunities to build on a strong second half of the season and finish the year in profit as overall on the year I’ve gone 21-22 with one push. In my season preview (view it HERE) I backed Oregon and Oklahoma to win the National Championship. Oklahoma went 0-3 against Top..
West Ham v LEICESTER. Premiership December 20th.
by davidg3907 on 19 Dec at 21:58
West Ham v LEICESTER CITY Having become detached at the foot of the table, Leicester need a festive miracle to avoid the tag of ‘bottom at Christmas’. Anything short of a win assures Leicester would open presents in the Houdini-esque position at Christmas. Even a win may not suffice. With an open game virtually assured, chances will come ( and probably go ) at both ends. LEICESTER’S APPROACH Again an improved display from Leicester last Saturday saw them lose to ( an albeit under performing ) Man City. The winning goal was again largely a case of sloppy defending. Liverpool joined the band of teams beaten by at least 3 goals in a Premier League match this season so Leicester are now one of nine yet to suffer that fate. Leicester have so far lost 11 matches. Seven have been by a single goal with..
Goose is getting fat, wallet getting thin, three Christmas crackers for a Yuletide grin!
by Randy Rann on 17 Dec at 22:49
Three longshots to hopefully bring a bit of festive cheer. Well it's that time of year when giving rather than receiving is the right thing to do, and that giving comes at a price! The real festive period is nearly upon us and after a last minute present shopping spree, enough food purchased to feed an army, a booze run and the dreaded tax bill that needs attention.......the cup doth not runneth over! The yuletide extravagances mean punting takes a backseat, but with a host of big races on the horizon, a little bit of what you like never hurt anyone, and if you can find some value, then have a dabble. That's the trouble, finding value as the bookies tighten up the prices on all the talking horses and squeeze the juice out of some tasty oranges! That said though, Christmas needs..
Welsh National Trends (An Early Look)
by Micko70 on 14 Dec at 15:22

The race is run over 3 miles 5 and a half furlongs and a total of 21 fences will be jumped during the race. Last years renewal had a purse of £100,000 and the winner received a very tasty £56,950.
