The Flyers are flying under the radar
by Epic on 23 Feb at 20:52
As Americans celebrated Hockey Day yesterday, the Philadelphia Flyers cheered after finishing two tough back to back games with a perfect record. They beat the Nashville Predators on Saturday 3-2 with a shootout and then got the better of the Washington Capitals with a 3-2 regulation time win. Two victories against teams, which we will almost certainly see competing in the Stanley Cup playoffs this Spring, has brought the Flyers close to their own playoff spot. The team, which was off pace by 13 points not long ago, is now just four points away from sneaking into the playoff spots in the Eastern Conference. The Flyers started 2015 with a poor run. Having picked up just a point from the last three matches of the previous year, they managed six points from eight matches, picking up four of them after regulation..
Chelsea v Tottenham (Capital One Cup Final)
by mercer on 25 Feb at 10:36
CHELSEA v TOTTENHAM I am looking at the big game the weekend which is the Capital One Cup Final, between Premier League leaders Chelsea & 7th placed Tottenham. Chelsea have won this competition three times since 1998, beating Middlesbrough 2-0, Liverpool 3-2 & Arsenal 2-1. Three of the last four finals Chelsea have played in this competition have gone to extra time & will they need that here ?. Tottenham have had mixed emotion's the last two final's they have competed in this competition, losing to Manchester United on penalties back in 2009 & beat the side they face here Chelsea 2-1 back in 2008. Tottenham also have won two of their last four finals in this competition. Anthony Taylor is in charge of the match & these are his card stats from domestic cup matches the last 5 years including this..
Both Teams To Score III; Bobslay13
by bobslay13 on 26 Feb at 16:33
Both Teams To Score Part II which is Redhammer's blog can be found HERE Intro At half time on Saturday (3pm games) things were looking gloomy for our BTTS selections, not many goals going in and it didn't improve after the break, to sum up our luck; in the 22 games in Scotland that kicked off at 3pm...only 4 games saw both sides score!!! After a quick look we realised the 42/1 Acca number 3 was on and it came down to Spain but again lady luck didn't shine for us, after Sundays games and the replay of Sampdoria and Genoa, turns out only Deportivo La Coruna let us down for the 42/1 shot. Frustrating, but we have been encouraged as on Tuesday night we threw a 6 game acca together and only Burton Albion let us down, Burton..
Nicky Henderson novice hurdlers to fly Seven Barrows' Cheltenham Flag, but "A Team" Chase more glory!
by Randy Rann on 24 Feb at 20:46
Nicky Henderson media day, gets the Cheltenham Festival juices flowing! A lucky invite as Dean's (Drobgod) wingman was gratefully accepted as the Cheltenham bound charabanc parked itself on the Seven Barrows lawn, as trainer Nicky Henderson opened his doors once again to the media scrum. After ditching the Sat-Nav and following our noses we made it just in time for the parade of stable stars. L'AMI SERGE was first out of the boxes and quite apt too, as the Grade 1 winning novice hurdler gets the ball rolling in the curtain raising Supreme Novice in exactly a fortnight's time. He looked well, but they all did and Henderson was confident he'd run well. He didn't say he was scared of Willie Mullins's hotpot Douvan, but did say he can't worry about what armoury his rival has got and just dream about what's in store for..
Manchester City v LEICESTER CITY. Premiership March 4th.
by davidg3907 on 01 Mar at 18:27
Man City v LEICESTER CITY The FA Cup defeat to the Villa was a disappointment after another fine display in defeat to Arsenal. An excellent performance at Everton again highlights the team’s inconsistency. Perhaps surprisingly considering their respective plights and away records, only Leicester and QPR along with Chelsea, Man City and Tottenham have scored in every away league match since Christmas. LEICESTER’S APPROACH The hosts were on the wrong end of a mauling from Barcelona in the week and did not appear to have learnt from those mistakes by the time of their trip to Anfield on Sunday. Leicester are unlikely to make them pay as dearly as those two sides but would love to take something from the match. Leicester’s bus parking would not stand the 90 minute test, so although they may set up to contain their illustrious hosts, they must..

AL East Preview
by undertherobe on 28 Feb at 11:51
In the past, previewing the AL East would generally just involve trying to predict by how many games the Yankees would win the Division as they won nine consecutive Division titles between 1998 and 2006. However, times have changed and the AL East is now a competitive Division with at least a couple of teams holding out hope of a title in 2015. Baltimore Orioles Last Season : 96-66 (Lost 4-0 to Kansas City in ALCS) 2014 brought a first AL East title since 1997, a first playoff series win since 1997 and their most wins since 1997. Baltimore were by far the best team in the Division last year and only the Washington Nationals won their Division by a bigger margin. They got there by being an all round consistently good team without really excelling in any area but that may change..
