by tbuckley on 26 Jul at 20:32
Premier League - Top 6 Head to Head record and statistics from 2014/15 season The 2015/16 Premier League season is now less than 2 weeks away from starting when Manchester United host Tottenham in a 12.45pm kick off on August 8th and I really can't wait for the Premier League action to start. My build up to the new Premier League season started a couple of weeks ago with thoughts and studies focused on looking at the Ante-post markets to look for the range of bets I always like to have going into each season, the blog on Ante-post bets for Every Premier League team is available in blog section. Another part of the process for building up to a new season is to look at different areas of the Premier League ie top 6, top 10 and relegation battle, looking at..
2015/16 European League Trends
by undertherobe on 22 Jul at 22:18
Last season I wrote a short blog looking at relegation trends amongst some of the top leagues in Europe (VIEW HERE). Despite getting Leicester and Burnley the wrong way around, relegations for Paderborn and Cesena softened the blow and a small loss of 2% was made. For 2015/16 I’m going to take another look at some trends over the last few seasons concerning title winners and relegation across the biggest leagues in Europe with the hope of finding some profit come next May Premier League Winners CHELSEA won their 4th title in the Premier League era last season but not since 2006-07 to 2008-09 has a team retained the Premier League when Manchester United won three in a row. That was preceded by two titles in a row for Chelsea but six seasons in a row without a team winning back to back..
MLB Review - We 25.07.15
by undertherobe on 26 Jul at 07:41
Another excellent week in baseball ended with a no-hitter for Cole Hamels in Chicago. Hamels has been the subject of trade rumours for a while now and yesterday may well have been his final appearance in a Phillies uniform. In this week’s blog I look at four pitchers who are hot property this week as the trade deadline approaches, which teams to back and oppose in extra innings and another three pitchers to watch.... Picks Review Zack Greinke continued his remarkable run on Sunday as he outdueled Max Scherzer in Washington to extend his scoreless streak beyond 43 innings and he hasn’t given up a run since June 13th. The Dodgers found some offense against the Washington bullpen and racked up 15 hits in a 5-0 win. Greinke finished with 8 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 11 SO. It wasn’t just Greinke who..
Goodwood 5.25 NAT WEST STAKES (Handicap)
by meoldmate on 29 Jul at 01:08
Day one of Goodwood, was not that kind to my two blogs, hopefully this one could be more rewarding, with this being the get out stakes, last race. Handicap over seven furlongs and at present stage twenty go to post, this race is going to produce, many unlucky stories, with tiring horses and horses trying to find the room to make a play from the pace from, of course the ones that are drawn wide looking for cover will not be helping the ones on the inside. Plenty to ponder about in a handicap of this size. If the rain stays away, the ground would be running on the good side and with the wind that has been around, could start to appear a lot faster. HISTORY Just going back five years with winners of this race and I will place the draw..
Newcastle And West Ham - Be Careful What You Wish For
by garethp1981 on 27 Jul at 19:10
In the last part of my football blog reviewing the 2014-15 season I wrote about three teams who had bad starts to the season and then managed to turn things around. In this blog I will be writing about teams who did the opposite, a reasonably good start followed by a poor second half of the season. One example of this is Newcastle United who managed to stay in the Premier League in the end with 39 points; but this total does not tell the full story of the season. Alan Pardew left the club officially on the 2nd of January, so the team had played 20 of their 38 games. He left them on 27 points which most people would agree is not fantastic but is far from relegation form (Hull and QPR both had 19 points at this..
Who'll win the 2015/16 Skybet League One?
by bobslay13 on 27 Jul at 20:48
Who’ll win the 2015/16 Skybet League One? 2 weeks to go until the first round of league fixtures in the 2015/16 season get underway; a good time to start trying to predict who’s going to win the divisions of the Football League. Many teams are still pretty under-staffed but most are starting to take shape and have the spine of their side sorted so I think we can make pretty logical predictions now. I’ll be looking at League Two in the next week or so but this episode I’m focusing on League One. League One So, who are the main competitors? I’m not going to look at every side in the league. Nor am I looking at who might clinch promotion because that means a chunky review of at least half the division; rather I’m going to look at a handful of teams..
Pre-season 2015/16 - The Liverpool Perspective; two weeks to go
by ibfm23 on 26 Jul at 12:00
Once again the Reds were amongst the most active clubs during the summer transfer window. Last year, we all had the ill feeling that the failure to replace Suarez would have a detrimental effect, and it did indeed. This time around though, Rodgers has done a better job at slotting in signings where required. Last time out, Liverpool conceded 48 goals in 38 matches, 10 or more goals short of the top four’s defensive record. This notwithstanding, the Reds kept 14 clean sheets, better than Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United. Yet, when things went wrong they went horribly wrong and Liverpool conceded more than 2 goals on 7 occasions which all ended in defeats. In comparison, the top four jointly conceded more than 2 goals 7 times! When things got hard, the Reds were unable to keep it together and this..
