by tbuckley on 17 Nov at 22:26
Racing at Meydan, Dubai - journey to the 2015 Dubai World Cup begins YES!!! - racing at Meydan is back!!! - as you can tell from that intro I'm a huge fan of the racing from Meydan, I follow it with a passion, love watching it, punting on it and I always greatly look forward to the Meydan racing season starting. Now I'll hold my hands up and say that the new racing season at Meydan actually started 2 weeks ago on November 6th, I don't quite know how I missed it, I'll happily blame having my mind on enjoying the various hospitality days I enjoyed courtesy of OLBG and The Racing Post in the weeks before. I can't do anything about missing the start of the Meydan season but rest assured I've caught up with what happened and I'll cover that..
European Tour Qualifying School Preview
by jimmywomble on 15 Nov at 00:46
Korhonen Graduates from School Again Imagine if you will being told that whether or not you have a job for the next year depends on how you do this week, and this week alone, irrespective of how well you have, or haven’t, done in the past. I’m sure it will get the blood pumping and as you get towards the end of the week certain other body parts twitching. Well that’s what faces the golfers heading the PGA Catalunya for the European Tour Qualifying School this week, where they need a top 30 finish to guarantee a tour card for the next year. Taking the medal honours last year was Carlos del Moral. It’s a mammoth 6 rounds played over both the Tour & Stadium Courses, two rounds on each with a cut after 4 rounds and..
NHL: Three most disappointing teams so far
by Epic on 16 Nov at 19:12
A number of teams will reach the 20-game mark next week in the new NHL season. It's been far from a perfect start for many clubs, but a few are struggling more than expected. Of course, there is still time to improve their fortune, but these following three teams - in no particular order and minus the Columbus Blue Jackets, who's woes are down to injury problems - have to get their act together as soon as possible. Dallas Stars Back in August I wrote about five teams, which in my eyes were likely to go through big improvements (you can read it HERE) and the Stars were one of them. Currently they sit bottom of the Central division though. It seems like the changes made over the summer have messed up the team chemistry. This week they picked up a couple..
CME Group Tour Championship ( LPGA Tour ) 2014 Preview
by The rabbit on 16 Nov at 20:28
Lydia Ko is the youngest lady golfer to have won $1 million in earnings and she is competing in the final tournament of the 2014 LPGA season which is the CME Group Tour Championship at the Ritz Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida and it takes place from the 20th November - 23rd November 2014. There is no cut. The host course for this event was the Grand Cypress golf club in 2011 and in 2012 it was the Eagle Course at TwinEagles. Last year the Ritz Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida was the host course and it will be again this year. The tournament features about 70 of the best lady golfers and is a good reflection of the LPGA season as it features the majority of the players who have won a LPGA tournament in 2014 and also..
DP Dubai World Championship Preview
by jimmywomble on 19 Nov at 06:46
Westwood Back on Top in Dubai The European Tour wraps up this weekend with the DP Dubai World Championship which will again be from the Earth Course at the Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai. Winner of this event and also taking the Race to Dubai was Henrik Stenson who won by 6 shots of his waiter for the night Ian Poulter. I’m not 100% sure on the opening tee times but it will be the early hours of Thursday 20th November UK time. The Course & Past Winners The Earth Course was designed by Greg Norman and opened in 2009, the same year as the first event. It’s a long course at 7,675 yards, and of course being in Dubai it is a desert course with plenty of waste areas, and also water with the 17th being an island green..
Cleverly v Bellew - Saturday - PPV
by FrankieMonkhouse on 19 Nov at 13:50
The Beatles released ‘We Can Work It Out’ back in 1965 but it seems the only way Tony Bellew and Nathan Cleverly can settle their long running feud is in the ring. Sky Sports Pay-Per-View screen all of the action from Liverpool’s Echo Arena live on Saturday night. This match-up has split public opinion down the middle and bookmakers seem at a loss to predict the eventual winner, meaning it’s a real pick-em contest in the betting. Former WBO world light-heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly claimed a majority decision when the pair met in the same venue three years ago and since losing his title to the impressive Sergey Kovalev last summer via a fourth round TKO, the 27-year-old has returned to form with two stoppage wins in his most recent outings, both inside four rounds. The 6ft 1inch Welshman is best..
Weekend Football Multiple Fun - 21st to 24th November
by tbuckley on 17 Nov at 00:50
Weekend Football Multiple Fun - 21st to 24th November Well the quest for an all correct football multiple continues, it's been a mixed ride so far hitting the crossbar with a few bets as just 1 team has let me down but then other bets were basically only 1 team has come good. It's been a really strange mix of highs and lows, it's been good fun watching how all the football matches from the various leagues have worked out but at the same time some of the results and failed tips have left me shaking my head and thinking "how did that happen ?" Generally this season has had a strange feel to it and not really had a good, continuous flow yet with all the breaks for internationals, so now the latest international break is out of the way I..
