Trainers to follow in July
by Scratville on 30 Jun at 13:43
An awful June means we go into July with a minus £27.45 LSP for the year. July wasn't kind last year so we have a mostly new set of trainers this July. We are going with 6 flat trainers, 4 NH and one Irish Flat trainer. FLAT TURF DAVID SIMCOCK (3yo+) Suffolk trainer who crops up from time to time, usually with his AW runners. This month we will concentrate on his 3yo's and older as he has a poor record with his 2yo's at this time of year (2/27) and (£21.45 LSP) over the last 4 July's. 2011 4/39 10% +£ 8.42 2012 4/36 11% (£18.95) 2013 9/37 24% ..
Wimbledon 2015 - ATP Draw Preview
by botev1921 on 26 Jun at 17:51
Once again I am off to provide the most comprehensive quarter by quarter preview of yet another Grand Slam and while the ATP part of these events has grown to be somewhat dull and predictable, few really saw Stan Wawrinka winning Roland Garros, so there is some value out there if only we can find it early enough. The grass court season, for being as short as it is, actually offers some very specific angles to work with when we analyse draws and match-ups. It is common knowledge that big servers, credible net play and most of all stable return play a much bigger part of the grass court strategy and I believe we must combine those three when we try to pick a potential surprise package to upset the top 10, who once again are expected to dominate at..
Royal Ascot review, with declarations for winners
by meoldmate on 25 Jun at 20:22
Royal Ascot week, was exciting, thrilling and had everything else to go with the meeting, along with the channel four cameras. It is good to see the whole meeting through each day and not a few selected races. Never mind the fashion going on and interviewing stars, who have been racing, by chance, they appear this year and for the first time, someone must of got them a ticket, another freebie for celebrities to be notice. Would not surprise me if they knew, there was a racing meeting taking place. Yes onto the horses that made the show, what all our members, wanted to watch and be part of, even through the lens of the camera and into our living rooms, we get the feel of being their, with the excitement of wagers being on a selected horse and hoping for a..
Ashes 2015, England to tame "The Backyard Bashers" with their own scrappers.
by Randy Rann on 28 Jun at 13:57
Forthcoming Ashes Series has all the hallmarks of a classic, but England can scrape home in what promises to be a real dog-fight. Well we're not too far away from the First Ashes Test in Cardiff and I for one can't wait for the action to start. I still can't believe it's 10 years since that brilliant 2005 series here where Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff brought out the kid in me when he went close to taking over from Sir Ian Botham as my cricketing hero. The 1981 Ashes Series where Botham put in Superhero performances after being sacked as Captain got me hooked on this great game and Test cricket in particular. However that's all in the past and new heroes are to be made this summer as it's time for fresh faces to step up to the mantle and put..
Wimbledon 2015 - The British Perspective
by undertherobe on 28 Jun at 00:28
Oh dear. Back at the start of the grass court season, I wrote a blog previewing the six British men inside the top 200 of the ATP Rankings (click here) but it’s all gone downhill from there. Other than Andy Murray, only Aljaz Bedene managed a main draw victory in any of the warm-up events and he didn’t make it further than the 2nd round in Nottingham. To make matters worse, the Wimbledon draw couldn’t have been less kind to the British men and once again, only Andy Murray is favoured with the bookmakers to make it past the first round. So is there any hope for the British men and how far can they get in SW19? Andy Murray (1st rd vs Mikhail Kukushkin) Seeded three, Murray really shouldn’t have too much trouble getting past Kukushkin in the first round. The..
MIDWEEK MAKE-UP MATCHES
by wildbillsghost on 30 Jun at 18:16
There are two games to start the week, they are make-up games from earlier in the season when the four clubs here were involved in Challenge Cup games a round before the rest of the Super League teams. Both games will be shown, LIVE, on the SkySports website, but not on TV. Tuesday June 30th 2015 HULL KINGSTON ROVERS vs. SALFORD RED DEVILS 8pm KO Rovers will be a big high after cementing their place in the Challenge Cup semi-finals. It was a good performance from the Robins, but one they nearly through away. Whether it was complacency, or just a great fight-back from the Dragons, things got a lot closer for Rovers than looked possible at the break. Having raced into a 24-0 lead after just half..
City Lacked Chelsea's Consistency
by garethp1981 on 28 Jun at 17:34
Thus far since the end of the season I have written blogs reviewing the football season in five countries. These five countries, Germany, Spain, Italy, France and Portugal are all part of the top six leagues in Europe according to UEFA (I picked the top six because numbers seven and eight are Russia and Ukraine, leagues in which have little interest). Since I have looked at five countries, and I am covering the top six there is obviously one missing, and this country is England. The English league is the second highest UEFA-rated league behind Spain and is the one most often tipped on by OLBG members. The Premier League is also the league in which I have the most interest and it is the one about which I have the most to say, so it is the one I..

Wimbledon 2015 - Prediction Blog
We had one winner in our Roland Garros prediction blog and came close with the Novak Djokovic prediction only to be denied, like I am sure many others, by the on-fire Stan Wawrinka. After breaking our previous visits record, the...
