  • Euro 2016 - Group D preview and betting tips - Spain easy winners? Not so fast...

    ibfm23 on 07 Feb at 06:09

Group D is one of the toughest to predict or find any value ante-post bets. Spain, Croatia, Czech Republic and Turkey; one top nation and three mid-tier nations means that the second qualification spot, assuming Spain do not disappoint, will be a heated affair. What about Spain though? Are they as strong as the odds - 1.67 to win the group - suggest? They went through with 9 wins and 1 defeat but with key players of the historical ‘Triplette’ ageing and retiring, there is doubt whether the new blood can perform with the same level of efficiency during the final stages of a competition considering the disappointing Brazil 2014 group stage elimination. Let’s look at the opposition first. Croatia went through a very difficult group which included Italy, Norway and Bulgaria, in second place and gave the Italians a tough…

  • All Draws Multiple Challenge 2015/16 - All Draw Fun in February

tbuckley on 03 Feb at 19:28

All Draws Multiple Challenge 2015/16 - All Draw Fun in February I absolutely love taking on a challenge, especially a football betting related one that can potentially help people so last season when a fellow OLBG member posted on another blog to say that he couldn't find anybody who covered specifically selecting draws then I really could not resist taking that challenge on. The challenge of selecting matches which I think have great potential to be draws and then putting them together in multiples in something that I've personally done on a regular basis for several years now and I like to do it as extra option to the all to win multiples that I do. I like to target draws as the odds are usually very good, standard draw prices range from 2-1 to 12/5 and clearly if you can get…

  • Trying To Understand The Cheltenham Gold Cup Market

    Gman84 on 03 Feb at 01:38

With roughly six weeks to go until the greatest show in National Hunt racing takes over all our lives for four days of thrills and spills I've spent a lot of time following the ante post market for the main event - The Timico Gold Cup. With Coneygree's victory in the race as a novice last year as well as the runner up (Djakadam) and 3rd place (Road To Riches) also showing that they belong it seemed that they would be able to go forward and join two exciting novice chase winners (Vautour in the JLT and Don Poli in the RSA) in forming a new set of dynamic jumping heros who could bring us a Gold Cup for the ages. It gets even better when Don Cossack - 3rd in the Ryanair at the festival - then took apart…

  • The Quarterback Merry-Go-Round in 2016

Another NFL season concludes and NFL teams and fans now have their eyes towards the off-season. Ever since 1993 and the introduction of a new collective bargaining agreement which brought in free agency for players the off-season has the ability to offer as much drama as the real games themselves. After a Super Bowl dominated by defenses the ability for a team to have a great pass rush has become even clearer (not that it was in doubt beforehand) but why do you need such a good pass rush? Because the NFL is now a passing league and therefore, every team wants stability and production from the most glamorous and important position in American sports. However, it’s easier said than done. With more demanded from the position and offenses running more pass-oriented offenses finding the right triggerman is hard.…

  • Exact Goal Betting System - Week 2

danbradley on 08 Feb at 22:41

Last week I came up with an idea for a system involving a goals market which the bookies don't seem to have taken seriously yet, but for which the stats suggest there should as much variation in prices as the more commonly used over/under 2.5 goals which gets plenty of attention from punters and bookmakers alike. This system uses exact goals. However, rather than going one way or another, over or under, I'm looking at sides who regularly have 2/3 goals in a game and sides that regularly either have very low-scoring or very high-scoring games. We can back there to be exactly 2/3 goals in a game at 2.05 in pretty much every Premier League game, while laying at that price usually gives us effective odds after fees of about 1.85. With these odds staying the same in every game,…
