NBA Season Preview - Contenders
by botev1921 on 15 Oct at 01:00
The NBA season is getting nearer and while all teams are now deep into figuring out their rotations and getting physically prepared for the upcoming marathon, punters have to start paying more attention to the early developments, examine the pre-season games and gradually come to conclusions as to who are the main contenders in the different markets, currently available. From NBA champions, to division by division winners and of course the intriguing player markets, there are so many options with so many different angles to consider. Normally I do not commit to anything too risky early on as the season is indeed very long and sometimes there are extremely surprising developments (Suns overachieving last year or Sixers being close to the playoffs right before losing 20+ games in a row), but in order to have a profitable and enjoyable year,..
Weekly Euro Football Predictor 2014 - WEEK 6
by botev1921 on 16 Oct at 23:34
After the great season we had last year and the tons of positive messages regarding our Weekly Euro Football Blog, we are back with a bigger team and even more determined to help you out with well-developed selections on the biggest European leagues and the Champions league. The idea behind the blog is to get differing opinions on the best bets for the best matches in Europe over the weekend from a panel of experts. Each tipster provides their perception of the way the game will pan out and where the value bet in the mass football markets might be. These opinions can be used in any way you wish. You may wish to take one bet where the panel agrees (signalled out as CONSENSUS PICK) and add that to existing bets you have or mix and match the various European..
Frys.com Open - Review
by hornygoat on 13 Oct at 12:24
Frys.com Open Analysis New for this season (and time allowing), I will be conducting a public post-mortem of an event. A bit like a sexier Quincy, I’m hoping to get to the guts of an event from a punting perspective, and hope my findings can help spot future winners at the course. Overview In near perfect conditions and very little wind, Sang Moon Bae (or Bae Sang Moon) held off the nerves to emerge the victor. Entering the final round with a four shot lead, no one really put him under any pressure, meaning a +1 round was good enough for a two shot triumph and his second PGA Tour title. Steven Bowditch shot -10 to run into second spot, whilst a number of players including the much fancied Hideki Matsuyama and Hunter Mahan finished in a tie for 3rd spot. Bae (28) who..
STOKE v SWANSEA: Injuries Might Disrupt Potters' Plans.
by trouserdog78 on 17 Oct at 11:01
Under Tony Pulis's stewardship, I always felt a bit grubby whenever we beat Swansea. The Swans would arrive at The Brit with their pretty passing triangles, caressing the ball around the pitch with deft touches and balletic grace; we'd watch that for an hour from the stands, appreciate the intention to entertain, then inevitably beat them with a scrambled goal off a corner. While Swansea's gameplan was all poetry, flowers and paying for dinner, Stoke just went out with a chloroform-soaked pad and a knowledge of how to get to the bushes quickly. We were just horrible, but frighteningly effective at times. Things are different now of course, and the differences between our respective tactics are not so pronounced. On our bad days, Stoke have also mastered the art of what's known in tactical circles as..
The Southampton Perspective: Saints Face Bogey Side
by danbradley on 16 Oct at 09:52
The Southampton Perspective: Saints Face Bogey Side Southampton’s run came to an end last week in defeat to Tottenham and former manager Mauricio Pochettino but my profits for the season continued as I bagged an LSP of +8.75 for the match. This is little consolation to me as a fan, though the performance against Spurs was decent enough, and a point might have been a fair result from the match. Next up for the Saints are draw specialists and recent bogey team Sunderland. The international break could have been timed better for the Saints, as that defeat still lingers in the mind, and taints the excellent run of form which preceded it. Despite this recent form, however, I am finding it hard to make a case for the Saints winning this game. I’m not usually one for taking too much attention..
Newcastle v Leicester (Newcastle's point of view)
by Micko70 on 14 Oct at 22:22
After yet another premiership game without a win (2-2 at Swansea), Newcastle are starting to look like strong candidates for relegation Newcastle have had the international break to try and focus on getting their first win of the season, this week they entertain Leicester City, who have had a decent start to the new season, including a 5-3 win over Man Utd As we head into this weekend, Newcastle are currently sitting in 18th place on 4 points, whilst Leicester are sitting 12th with 9 points PREVIOUS MEETINGS Looking at the last 20 meetings in all competitions we can see that Newcastle have won 10, Leicester have won 3 and the other 7 games were drawn The last 10 meetings at St James Park have seen the home side win 8, Leicester winning 1 and 1 game ending in a draw PREDICTIONS The pressure will be on..
Everton v Aston Villa - Time for Toffee's to get winning
by fairfranco on 15 Oct at 13:22
After a tough start to the season that has seen Everton win just one of their 7 games conceding more goals than anyone else, a massive 16 whilst also scoring 13 goals. Everton's first 7 games were undoubtedly tough as they played Arsenal and Chelsea at home and Liverpool and Man Utd away but there can be no excuses really for the poor defensive performances that saw them concede so many in games that they matched the opposition but produced so many defensive errors. The other 3 games were against supposed bottom half sides and only produced 4 points with a draw against Leciester on the opening day, a win against West Brom and a very poor performance in a loss to Crystal Palace. Everton now have what could be called a decent run of games and they must turn their..
