Can Twitter help our betting in the specials markets?
by drobgod on 03 Dec at 09:57
I have no idea whether the amount of Twitter followers a celebrity has could be a useful guide for us when betting on programmes such as I'm A Celebrity, X-Factor and Strictly Come Dancing, but after having two winning bets at 16/1 and 5/2 in the last two days, purely down to those statistics, it's certainly something I wanted to look at in more detail. Before the first elimination from I'm A Celebrity I compiled a list of how many followers each participant had on Twitter (see below) and because of the fact that several of the contestants were immune from the first vote-off it meant that Annabel Giles was some 40,000 behind her nearest rival, Alfonso, in the twitter followers stakes. I backed Annabel on this basis to be evicted first and she duly obliged after being in the bottom..
Having A Sporting Wager: NFL Total Points Market
by durkinliam on 04 Dec at 22:39
First of all, welcome again! This blog is for everyone, but mainly those who are looking to get into the beautiful game of American Football and there's no better place to start when betting on NFL than the Total Points market. Betting on the Total Points market, it allows the punter to follow a game without needing Team A or Team B to win and also eases newbie’s into the sport without needing prior knowledge of the teams, players, injuries, so on and so forth. This season (week 13 inclusive) there's been 41 games where the Total Points market are wanting at least 50 points to be successful, e.g. over 49 points. From these 41 games, 23 have been successful so far in 13 game weeks yielding a £2.91 level stakes profit (£1). From the 18 games which didn't exceed their..
First World Cup insights after the group stage draw
by botev1921 on 06 Dec at 23:09
The World Cup might be six months away, but I have learned from previous tournaments that the best value bets are usually available right after the draw is out as long as one manages to come up with accurate conclusions. The draw itself pretty much determines who the bookies consider a bigger favorite based on several aspects, including group difficulty, which groups cross each other and which teams are more likely to come out of their half of the draw into the semi-finals and final respectively. With the odds already moving in different directions, I will try highlight the different potential trends and outcomes of each group and determine which are the real value bets and which could be considered totally unworthy of taking. Overview of the groups Usually the analysts divide groups into easy and difficult or the known cliché “groups..
Omega Dubai Ladies Masters Preview
by jimmywomble on 04 Dec at 00:40
Nocera the Best of the Gw”Ladys” in Dubai It’s the turn of the European Ladies to complete their season and like the men they head to Dubai for the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters. They head to a familiar venue as well as they head to the Emirates GC, home of the Dubai Desert Classic on the European Tour, they’ve also been here since 2006 and the winner last year was Shanshan Feng. This also gets underway a day earlier than normal, starting Wednesday, about 3am UK time. Plus unlike other finale’s it’s a full field event rather than the top 30 or so, and includes a few invitees from the LPGA Tour. The Course Obviously a familiar course as it’ll be played over the same Majlis Course at the Emirates GC. Although for the ladies it will play 6,425 yards,..
November Big Race Reviews and Cheltenham Festival 2014 Clues
by man o bong on 03 Dec at 19:30
The first real full month of the national Hunt season is in the box and we have several big races to asses the form of. I am looking to review each month as it passes en-route to the Cheltenham Festival Where did runners catch the eye? Where did they need the run? Can we take anything from the form just yet? Early season form can be quite difficult to asses and we will see examples of this as we take a look back at November and races such as the Charlie Hall, Haldon Gold Cup, Paddy power Gold and Betfair Chase, over fences, whilst Over hurdles, the likes of the Greatwood Hurdle and Long Distance at Newbury to unpick Charlie Hall Chase - Wetherby 1st 4 Harry Topper K C Bailey 6 11-6 J M Maguire 5/1 Held up, jumped slowly 1st, blundered next, not fluent 9th, headway on outside 11th, challenged 4 out,..
