  • The Quarterback Merry-Go-Round in 2016

    Gman84 on 08 Feb at 22:57

Another NFL season concludes and NFL teams and fans now have their eyes towards the off-season. Ever since 1993 and the introduction of a new collective bargaining agreement which brought in free agency for players the off-season has the ability to offer as much drama as the real games themselves. After a Super Bowl dominated by defenses the ability for a team to have a great pass rush has become even clearer (not that it was in doubt beforehand) but why do you need such a good pass rush? Because the NFL is now a passing league and therefore, every team wants stability and production from the most glamorous and important position in American sports. However, it’s easier said than done. With more demanded from the position and offenses running more pass-oriented offenses finding the right triggerman is hard.…

  • WTA players who can win their first title in 2016

The rabbit on 10 Feb at 18:48

The start of the 2016 WTA tour began with tournaments in Australia, China and New Zealand and the first Grand Slam was the Australian Open in Melbourne where Angelique Kerber defeated Serena Williams in the final to obtain her first Grand Slam trophy. Most tennis fans are familiar with all the top players who should win again but I find it interesting to try and predict which players will win their maiden WTA title during a season and last year I managed to successfully choose three out of four selections ( Belinda Bencic, Camila Giorgi and Sloane Stephens ). I have selected these four players who I believe to have the ability to gain their first WTA title success in 2016 - Daria Gavrilova Daria has won four titles on the ITF tour including two last year in Australia…

  • The 1.8-2.2 Bookie Trap - Avoiding low value betting

    ibfm23 on 09 Feb at 05:21

I have always been a big football fan and since I turned 18 i always liked to have a pop at it, never with large stakes involved as I do not have the guts to keep my cool under money pressure, but enough to keep it interesting. That said as time went by I have gotten more and more frustrated at my inability to turn what I believe is my above-average knowledge into a sustainable profit. As an outright geek :) I always kept record of my bets and upon reviewing the results I identified a common denominating factor, what I've come to call, the 1.8-2.2 Bookie Trap. Implied probabilities As most of you know, odds may be translated into implied probabilities through a simple mathematical formula. Nowadays a google search will take you to an automated online implied odds calculator.…

  • Are eGamers About To Take Over Football?

LustForLeith on 11 Feb at 21:22

Are eGamers About To Take Over Football?   When it comes to football, my son is something of a late developer in both playing it and being interested in the sport. This is because A) I’m terrible at the game and I’m worried that I’ll pass it onto him through our genes and B) Because I support Hibs and nothing can prepare you for the disappointment that usual follows following the team.   But he started playing the game through his school after the summer holidays and quite enjoys it. He’s even had the good fortune of going to a Hibs game too!   For Christmas he got his first ever copy of FIFA, the computer game phenomenon, and he’s hooked. It’s actually acting as an educational tool and giving him a crash course in the game and it’s rules. When to dive into a tackle,…

  • GW26 - Aston Villa vs Liverpool betting tips - What's next for out of focus Reds?

    ibfm23 on 10 Feb at 07:38

It is sad that a big win for the Liverpool blog had to coincide with a negative result. The reality though is that tunnel is getting darker and darker and too add to the League woes, the Reds are out of, or better, have snobbed the FA Cup. February's final League match will be away at Aston Villa - a double clash in the Europa League v Augsburg and the League Cup final will follow. The Villans have lost only 1 of their last 5 and although they are still 8 points behind 16th placed Newcastle they have given themselves a fighting chance. With 13 matches to go though they need a miracle but hey, we've seen stranger things happen this season so I wouldn't be hasty in writing them off. With Ayew still suspended, and Gestede and Kozak out injured,…
