UK Championship Round-up: Positives and Negatives
by TeddyT on 09 Dec at 17:08
UK Championship Round Up Who Did Not Impress? Mark Selby In some ways Selby did remarkably well to make the final of the UK Championship considering he didn’t play well for most of the week. That may seem an unlikely theory given that he won six matches and made a 147 break but Selby himself admitted as much after losing to Neil Robertson. Selby did quite well with the draw in York, playing three low ranked players and then meeting little resistance from Graeme Dott and Ricky Walden. Barry Hawkins should really have knocked the reigning UK champ out in the quarter-final but Selby managed to win the last three frames of that match to pinch a victory. Selby's victory probably had as much to do with how few matches Hawkins has won recently as it did Selby’s resilience. In my opinion Selby’s confidence is..
First World Cup insights after the group stage draw
by botev1921 on 06 Dec at 23:09
The World Cup might be six months away, but I have learned from previous tournaments that the best value bets are usually available right after the draw is out as long as one manages to come up with accurate conclusions. The draw itself pretty much determines who the bookies consider a bigger favorite based on several aspects, including group difficulty, which groups cross each other and which teams are more likely to come out of their half of the draw into the semi-finals and final respectively. With the odds already moving in different directions, I will try highlight the different potential trends and outcomes of each group and determine which are the real value bets and which could be considered totally unworthy of taking. Overview of the groups Usually the analysts divide groups into easy and difficult or the known cliché “groups..
Find a Yeti in the Trading Market
by davidg3907 on 09 Dec at 23:18
A bit like the Holy Grail or the Yeti , I have not the slightest idea where it is - but it must be out there somewhere. What must :? The thin line between trading and ' covering bets ' or ' greening up '. Trading early or late To explain what I mean , let's look at racing first. You back 100 horses £1 at 5.00. There are three possibilities with varying degrees of each. A winning system , a losing system and one virtually breaking even. Should 22 win your return is £110 equating to a profit of 10 pts. That is a reasonable enough profit. Personally , if I was confident enough that a similar margin could be maintained there may be no reason to mess with it. Should 20 win your return is £100 just breaking..
Overseas Football Syndicates
by The Executioner on 08 Dec at 20:04
We seem to be hearing more these days of foreign betting syndicates becoming involved in attempts to bribe professional footballers in to trying to influence the outcome of matches. Players have been recorded on camera by undercover reporters and allegedly telling them how easy it is to make thousands of pounds via contacts attached to these syndicates. I don’t condone any wrong doings and anyone found guilty of such offences should be punished accordingly and in severe cases face the possibility of a lifetime ban from the sport. However if you think about it , is it any great surprise that these attempts on corruption appear to be happening more frequently ( or is it a case that they have been happening for years and we are now only hearing about them more often ) ? Bookmakers can be offering..
December Gold Cup Chase from Cheltenham Preview Live on CH4
by man o bong on 10 Dec at 17:05
It is time for a return to Cheltenham and the International Meeting, one of the highlights of which is the December Gold Cup. I am taking a brief look at each of the races this weekend and start with the December Gold Cup. Other races being shown on CH4 can be found later in the article First run in 1963 there have been some high flying winners of the Cheltenham December Gold Cup and in recent years the likes of Poquelin [2009 & 2010] and Exotic Dancer have taken the crown. Last season Paul Nichols once again grabbed the headline as his UNIONISTE took the 2013 renewal. Many of these chasers can be seen in years to come contesting the Grand National, or more immediately a return to the course for the Cheltenham Gold Cup at the festival in March. Latest December Gold..
Best Football 1x2 Betting Odds - Bet Victor v Pinnacle Sports
by man o bong on 07 Dec at 13:44
I have made an interesting observation about both Bet Victor and Pinnacle Sports this winter and the respective betting odds on offer. I wanted this year to have separate accounts for my football betting and after much research settled upon BetVictor based on an overall better offering in terms of odds. I did spend a considerable amount of time researching past odds on the leagues I wanted to play and Bet Victor came out on top every time. So I opened a BetVictor account straight away as a choice. However, with much debate about how quickly BV will close down accounts I wanted a back up, and my research gave me confidence that if I had found the Golden Egg, PINNACLE would be the best bet as they do not restrict accounts nor close them down. Football Betting Profit As it is, at the..
Stats to give us the edge on Score & Win and Both Teams to Score
by Scratville on 10 Dec at 15:13
In recent weeks I've been looking at the new betting phenomenon of Score & Win, this bet is like Both teams to Score but you have to choose a winner the odds are obviously much more attractive. I have approached this from a statistical point of view, the table below shows the number of times the home team have been involved in a Score and Win match when playing at home and the number of times the away team has been involved in a Score and Win game when playing away. The middle to figures are the numbers of times the home team has scored and won plus the number of times the away team has scored and lost and vice versa, are you with me so far lol! Last week when doing this for my personal interest I highlighted 9..
