PDC World Darts Championship
by Hogsback on 04 Dec at 19:22
I still find the PDC World Darts Championship the single most exciting sports event in any year. It is the competition that has it all. The big star, Phil Taylor, always shines brightly having won 14 World Championship titles. This could be his last time in this tournament as he is 53 Years of age now. No Phil Taylor would be devastating and that can be contemplated for another year. He might well go out on a ‘high’ so if he wins it again this year who knows? His hunger does not fade and neither does his eye sight as shown by winning the recent Grand Slam of Darts for the fifth time. Taylor is certainly a phenomenon and a true sporting legend. He is odds-on to win this year, so the bookies are giving nothing away. Taylor’s main rivals..

by man o bong on 06 Dec at 17:37
The World Cup Finals 2014 draw has taken place at Costa do Sauipe, Brazil on Friday Dec 6 2013 Here I take an immediate look at the draw, the odds and possible bets for the finals. World Cup Finals 2014 Betting Odds Brazil 4.5 Argentina 6.5 Germany 6.5 Spain 7.5 Belgium 17 Holland 21 Italy 23 France 26 Colombia 26 England 26 Uruguay 26 Chile 34 Portugal 34 Russia 81 Bosnia-Herzegovina 151 Ecuador 151 Ivory Coast 151 Switzerland 151 Croatia 151 Ghana 151 Mexico 151 Japan 176 USA 201 Australia 251 South Korea 251 Nigeria 251 Greece 251 Cameroon 301 Iran 751 Algeria 1001 Costa Rica 1001 Honduras 1501 The groups are made up as follows, World Cup Group A Brazil Previous World Cups: 1930, 1934, 1938, 1950, 1954, 1958, 1962, 1966, 1970, 1974, 1978, 1982, 1986, 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006 and 2010. Key player: Neymar (Barcelona). How they got here: Hosts Where will they finish: I have had Brazil down as winners from a long way out for no other reason than they are a terrific side and have home advantage. The thing that may work against them is actually that home advantage with home support and expectation. If they can overcome that, indeed rise to it, they can get the final Cameroon Previous World Cups: 1982, 1990, 1994,..
Interesting Jockey & Trainer Stats For The Jumps Part 2
by The Executioner on 05 Dec at 17:33
Further to my previous piece on certain jockey and trainer statistics I have delved deeper in to some other incidents which will hopefully be of benefit to members and produce profitable days in the future. They make interesting reading and these combinations should not be dismissed lightly when they occur. I’m not somebody that totally relies on statistics to back up my punting ; I’ve always considered myself a value seeker with a strong leaning towards form. Value is everything and I can’t stress enough that if you like the chance of a particular selection and the price is considered too low then simply leave it alone ; in the long run that approach should serve you well. I do however like it when the stats back up my opinion and I’ve come across a few profitable situations recently when assessing..
DR MATT'S ALTERNATIVE VIEW - week 1
by drmatt on 07 Dec at 12:09
I often wonder how many people follow the ‘hot tips’ on the OLBG website. For me I like to look at this page to get an idea of the overall feeling of the tipsters on the site. But rather than following the selections, I like to see if I can take an alternative view in the hope that if this is against the general feeling there might be more value in my selection. But this is not just about opposing all the consensus choices blindly; there still needs to be some consideration as to which are the ‘top tips’ to avoid. I have been doing this over the course of this season and it has been turning out quite well. So starting today, the tips that I have identified are as follows Chelsea (v Stoke, confidence 90%) Chelsea this..
November Big Race Reviews and Cheltenham Festival 2014 Clues
by man o bong on 03 Dec at 19:30
The first real full month of the national Hunt season is in the box and we have several big races to asses the form of. I am looking to review each month as it passes en-route to the Cheltenham Festival Where did runners catch the eye? Where did they need the run? Can we take anything from the form just yet? Early season form can be quite difficult to asses and we will see examples of this as we take a look back at November and races such as the Charlie Hall, Haldon Gold Cup, Paddy power Gold and Betfair Chase, over fences, whilst Over hurdles, the likes of the Greatwood Hurdle and Long Distance at Newbury to unpick Charlie Hall Chase - Wetherby 1st 4 Harry Topper K C Bailey 6 11-6 J M Maguire 5/1 Held up, jumped slowly 1st, blundered next, not fluent 9th, headway on outside 11th, challenged 4 out,..
Betting preview and analysis for this weekend’s Premier League games: Weekend 7th-9th December
by TheWeem on 06 Dec at 21:10
1) Missing Invisible man making visible change Michael Carrick is often largely ignored for his performances in the middle of machester United’s midfield but without him in the team united look short on options, and the man often dubbed the “invisible man” by United fans has left a big hole in the United midfield. Without Carrick in the team have drawn at Cardiff, drawn at Tottenham and lost at home to Everton, something which can not be purely coincidental. Since Carrick has been missing there has been three different midfield partnerships for United: Giggs+Fellaini, Cleverley + Jones and Cleverley+Fellaini, so it appears that David Moyes probably doesn’t know his best midfield combination, and it will be interesting to see what side he selects for this weekend’s game at Old Trafford. United haven’t looked the dominant force of old this season, and..
