A great weekends racing in the UK and Ireland and I take a look at The Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown and the clash between Hinterland and Grandouet on the same card. UK Championship Round-up: Positives and Negatives
by TeddyT on 09 Dec at 17:08
UK Championship Round Up Who Did Not Impress? Mark Selby In some ways Selby did remarkably well to make the final of the UK Championship considering he didn’t play well for most of the week. That may seem an unlikely theory given that he won six matches and made a 147 break but Selby himself admitted as much after losing to Neil Robertson. Selby did quite well with the draw in York, playing three low ranked players and then meeting little resistance from Graeme Dott and Ricky Walden. Barry Hawkins should really have knocked the reigning UK champ out in the quarter-final but Selby managed to win the last three frames of that match to pinch a victory. Selby's victory probably had as much to do with how few matches Hawkins has won recently as it did Selby’s resilience. In my opinion Selby’s confidence is..
The Stewart Family Thank You Gold Cup Trends (updated Dec 12th)
by Micko70 on 10 Dec at 19:14
The Massey Ferguson Gold Cup is run at Cheltenham racecourse in December, it's a grade 3 handicap chase which is run over 2 miles and 5 furlongs. The race started in 1963 as the above named race but has been also run under plenty of other titles, in 2006 Boylesports took over the sponsorship and the race was known as the Boylesports.com Gold Cup until 2009. Since 2009 it has been run as a different named race every year, in 2010 it was called the Vote A P Gold Cup to try and get racing fans to vote for Tony McCoy in the Sports Personality of the year in 2010, in 2011 it was called the Spinal Research The Atlantic 4 Gold Cup. Last year it changed it's title again and was run as the Paul Stewart IronSpine Charity Challenge Gold Cup and..
Career defining Test Match coming up for some at The WACA
by Randy Rann on 10 Dec at 22:14
Third Test a must watch........but only from behind the sofa!! Well what can you say, England battered in Brisbane and well and truly addled in Adelaide, with the forthcoming comfort that the WACA at Perth awaits, where England have only ever won ONCE at! 2-0 down with a must not lose Test Match coming up at the Aussie stronghold and with Mitchell Johnson stepping it up a notch on his home patch. A Hat Stand! MONTY PANESAR England won't play two spinners in Perth and may even play without any. However I feel they should, and Monty is my pick. He bowled better than Graeme Swann and I won't forget his gutsy knock at No.11 in the First Innings for many a year. He took his blows and the look in his eyes is comical, but he showed tremendous courage. Don't forget either..
Overseas Football Syndicates
by The Executioner on 08 Dec at 20:04
We seem to be hearing more these days of foreign betting syndicates becoming involved in attempts to bribe professional footballers in to trying to influence the outcome of matches. Players have been recorded on camera by undercover reporters and allegedly telling them how easy it is to make thousands of pounds via contacts attached to these syndicates. I don’t condone any wrong doings and anyone found guilty of such offences should be punished accordingly and in severe cases face the possibility of a lifetime ban from the sport. However if you think about it , is it any great surprise that these attempts on corruption appear to be happening more frequently ( or is it a case that they have been happening for years and we are now only hearing about them more often ) ? Bookmakers can be offering..
Find a Yeti in the Trading Market
by davidg3907 on 09 Dec at 23:18
A bit like the Holy Grail or the Yeti , I have not the slightest idea where it is - but it must be out there somewhere. What must :? The thin line between trading and ' covering bets ' or ' greening up '. Trading early or late To explain what I mean , let's look at racing first. You back 100 horses £1 at 5.00. There are three possibilities with varying degrees of each. A winning system , a losing system and one virtually breaking even. Should 22 win your return is £110 equating to a profit of 10 pts. That is a reasonable enough profit. Personally , if I was confident enough that a similar margin could be maintained there may be no reason to mess with it. Should 20 win your return is £100 just breaking..
UFC Fight Night 33 Friday Midnight BT Sports Recap
by tattflash on 11 Dec at 16:12
So there we have it, yet another fight to consider for fight of the year. A very good fight saw Silva dominate round 1 dropping Hunt with a hard right hand. Hunt started the second round in control, before Silva used some brutal leg kicks to start chopping Hunt down, Round 3 saw Hunt dominate, whilst round 4 again saw Hunt start brightly before Silva pounced on Hunt as he slipped and put on a GnP show for the final 2 minutes of the round. Round 5 saw Hunt tee off at will against Silva, before the referee decided somewhat bizarre to stop the fight because he could not see where the blood was coming from on Silva, his comments were " I cant see where the blood is coming from, but I don't think its that bad" if you don't..
