Nelson Mandela Championship Preview
by jimmywomble on 10 Dec at 13:41
A Silva Lining as Golf Pays Its Respects to Madiba Golf will almost take a back seat this week on the European Tour following the passing last week of Nelson Mandela, just a week before the tournament that bears his name, The Nelson Mandela Championship presented by ISPS Handa. Although he has had one last say on the event as it has been moved forward to start on Wednesday 11th December to accommodate for his funeral which will be on the Sunday. This will be the second year of the event and winner last year was Scott Jamieson at the Royal Durban it what was a rain soaked opener to the 2013, where the event was cut to just 36 holes and the course shortened to a mere 5,594 yards. This year we have a new course as they move..
The Ashes - The best sledging on record
by drobgod on 09 Dec at 14:22
I'm no Cricket expert that's for sure, but I do enjoy watching the big matches and they get no bigger than England v Australia, especially when it's for The Ashes. Since the first test started in Brisbane one of the most topical discussions has centred around 'sledging' and the fact that Australia seem to be getting under the England players skins when participating in it. I must say apart from Joe Root, who just seems to laugh at them, most of the other English players do appear to have been unsettled by the Aussies behaviour, although I can't quite understand why. Sir Ian Botham said on Sky Sports only last night that this has been going on for years and you know your going to get it when you play away from home so get on with it.........wise words I think. Anyway..
Find a Yeti in the Trading Market
by davidg3907 on 09 Dec at 23:18
A bit like the Holy Grail or the Yeti , I have not the slightest idea where it is - but it must be out there somewhere. What must :? The thin line between trading and ' covering bets ' or ' greening up '. Trading early or late To explain what I mean , let's look at racing first. You back 100 horses £1 at 5.00. There are three possibilities with varying degrees of each. A winning system , a losing system and one virtually breaking even. Should 22 win your return is £110 equating to a profit of 10 pts. That is a reasonable enough profit. Personally , if I was confident enough that a similar margin could be maintained there may be no reason to mess with it. Should 20 win your return is £100 just breaking..
NFL Expert Picks - Your Ultimate Guide To Week 14
by Chipmonkadidooda on 06 Dec at 03:40
NFL EXPERT PICKS WEEK 14 Thursday Night Game HOUSTON TEXANS (2-10) @ JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (3-9) CURRENT MONEYLINE ODDS: 1.62/2.40 (HANDICAP -3 TEXANS) CONSENSUS: 5-3 TEXANS CHIPMONKADIDOODA: Much is made of the Jags being better on the road, but no-one mentions the fact that the Texans are rubbish EVERYWHERE! Couldn’t believe the Jags were dogs here and I take full advantage at the bookies here at least on the handicap. Texans are playing for a draft pick to find a franchise QB now (Schaub is 32) – mark my words they’ll have the worst record in the NFL come January. (JAGUARS) DECO121: The Houston Texans started their season 2-0 yet now, somehow, stand alone with the worst record in the NFL at 2-10 as we begin week 14. I say "somehow" because in my opinion they have been nowhere near the worst team in the league especially..

The Australian Open is the first of the 4 grand slam events in Tennis played in a calendar year, the 2014 version gets underway on January 13th and will finish on January 26th. Novak Djokovic is the current reigning mens champion, whilst the reigning womens champion is Victoria Azarenka MEN You have to go way back to 2005 to find an upset in the Men's singles, that was the last year and the first year since 1988 that a homegrown player reached the final. Lleyton Hewitt was beaten in the final by Marat Safin, who was winning the title for the first time after twice being a losing finalist. Since 2005 only 3 players have won the Men's singles, Roger Federer (2006, 2007 & 2010), Rafael Nadal (2009) & Novak Djokovic (2008, 2011, 2012 & 2013) LAST 10 YEARS Below is the table of results from the..

UK Championship Round-up: Positives and Negatives
by TeddyT on 09 Dec at 17:07
UK Championship Round Up Who Did Not Impress? Mark Selby In some ways Selby did remarkably well to make the final of the UK considering he didn’t play well for most of the week. That may seem an unlikely theory given that he won six matches and made a 147 break but Selby himself admitted as much after losing to Neil Robertson. Selby did quite well with the draw in York, playing three low ranked players and then meeting little resistance from Graeme Dott and Ricky Walden. Barry Hawkins should really have knocked the reigning UK champ out in the quarter-final but Selby managed to win the last three frames of that match to pinch a victory. Selby's victory probably had as much to do with how few matches Hawkins’ has won recently as it did Selby’s resilience. In my opinion Selby’s confidence is remarkably..
