GOODWOOD 2. 35 HISTORY This race has only been going since 1975, young in comparison to other well known group races. The first winner of this race was Riboboy who was ridden by Joe Mercer and trained by Dick Hern, who went onto win this race six more times, with the aide of Willie Carson, who also won this race six times as a jockey. Henry Cecil also equaled Dick Hern with six winners.... more
