I was trying to find a reason for Yorkshire not to win this league but I just can't find one and it shows with Derbyshire the perennial strugglers sat up on top of the table in mid may. I don't expect them to stay there as the conditions ease and their early season bowlers start to struggle and I can't see the others coming from the pack either with their lack of depth. It looks as poor a 2nd division this year than I have ever seen. Glamorgan, Gloucestershire and Leicestershire are all poor in terms in finances and big players having to rely on the local talent to come through while Northants overachieved last year after a good start. this leaves Essex, Hants and Kent but all these 3 have lost some of their bigger players in the close season and their bowling attacks look suspiciously weak and will have to rely on home pitch advantage to get some wins. Yorkshire have a wealth of talent coming through in both the bowling department and the batting and with the senior players still performing I just can't see them not winning the league this year (weather permitting).
